You feel completely immersed in the reserve/in nature so feels like a real safari experience, and the focus is very much on the game drives. Our room was lovely and the staff are all very friendly and make you feel welcome. Great food as well and we enjoyed the communal style of the meals
Couple of (hopefully small) suggestions - as others have said, some sort of gym or games room would be amazing, as the days are very long due to the early drive and there's not much to do in between (if the weather isn't great). You can drive to Blyde Canyon/God's Window/Kruger etc but these are at least 1hr away and involves more sitting..
I think the quality of the game drivers varies quite significantly, we did find ours a little challenging in his communication style (but this is a minor point)

Incredible stay here!
Solly and Chris were our drive guides and they were amazing- super knowledgeable whilst also making the experience fun and keeping us safe. We saw such a range of animals all due to them being so highly skilled.
The accommodation was high end whilst still fitting in with the surroundings and it was lovely having the private plunge pool and decking.
The food was also fab, the chefs were brilliant and every meal was flawless.
We couldn’t recommend staying here enough- once in a life time experience.
Not a negative but one to be aware of- the lodge doesn’t have an alcohol license so on arrival we were then taken back out so we could buy our own (and we were refunded some of the cost of our trip back).
Not an issue but one to be aware of when you arrive to Hoedspruit as can save you a trip if your driver takes you straight to the shops if you would like some.

Very nice, we were only South Africans, most of guests were international tourists. I think sharing tables with other guests that we didn’t know was okay for a day or so but for all days it’s a lot as we came for honeymoon. We needed our space.
