A hostel that feels like home

A hostel that feels like home, everything is super clean, nice chill out area, good vibes, nice people, if you go to Samara stay there!

Great hostel, especially for solo travelers!

Bathrooms and common areas were cleaned daily. Kitchen was very well stocked. The location was great - close to center of town but not noisy at night, and the communal vibe was great for meeting people and relaxing. I had some great nights hanging at the hostel and connecting with other travelers, and things always quieted down around 11 or so, so it wasn't too loud to sleep.

The pillows were pretty thin and small, so if this bothers you bring your own or be prepared to add layers underneath. Only real bummer is my sneakers were stolen from the shoe rack outside one night (by someone not staying at the hostel). This apparently doesn't happen often, but I'd bring any special shoes/sandals inside with you at night in case.

A real gem in the heart of Samara

Probably one of the best hostels for quite some time. The place very much felt like community living and sharing more than a hostel. We met very nice people from all ages and backgrounds, everyone gathers around the garden table and share stories...really fabulous! Kitchen is fully fitted and very clean, the double room we had was ok though in the main passageway, so ask for the ones upstairs if you can..they are also a lot more spacious. Immaculate bathrooms and communal areas. A real gem. What makes this a success is the atmosphere there, the great location minutes from everything and the general comfort and value for money.

We liked it all...Maybe just make sure you check your keys open the main kitchen doors on arrival. Also communal outdoor area isn't locked at night and remains accessible at all times so don't leave any valuables outside.

Great stay, great vibe - at a beautiful beach

I had a really nice and comfortable stay at Matilori Hostel. I was welcomed very warmly by the host and immediately felt comfortable and homely. The house and garden where clean throughout the time and everything you needed for a comfortable stay was available at all times. The hostel cat is a huge plus also, so so cute and calms you down. Beach is just a few meters aways, so the house is perfectly located as I find. I would highly recommend this accommodation if you want to visit Sámara.

Very good

Very nice staff. Enough space to hang out. Short walk to the beach. Clean bathrooms.

Bed was not comfortable, we felt the springs while lying on it.

i felt comfortable and safe while i was staying in a colorful and nice hostel

it’s really artsy and cozy. it’s a good place to meet other travelers. also i like the mattress a lot. host was very friendly and helpful.

Welcoming environment and location was great. Loved how cheap it was. The hostel is old and musty.

I loved the location.

The hostel could upgrade. The mattress are super old and the pillows are old.

Nice hostel

The hostel has a lot of nice chilling areas, a well equipped kitchen, good wifi and free coffee.

Just be aware while booking that there is a cat in the six-bed-room, in case it’s bothering you.

Beautiful vibe and great staff, but less impressive facilities

The vibe of the hostel is fantastic - one of the best hostels I've stayed at. Not a party hostel, just fun, social, and inclusive. The staff is a big reason for the vibe, they are the perfect team to be working here. Good location on a mostly quiet street, and only a 5 minute walk to the center of town or to the beach.

A lot of little annoyances about the hostel itself.... Thin sheets with holes in them are not ideal. The wifi is unreliable. No power outlets near some of the beds, and there are almost no places to plug in around the hostel. If you need to get some work done while here (or even just want to use your laptop for other things) it can be a challenge. The rooms get very hot, and the few fans are not enough to keep you cool at night.

Homely hostel

Location was great, 5 min walk to the beach. There are 2 kitchens, drinking water and free coffee in the morning. The hostel is very clean, and has a cosy homely feel.

1 very thin pillow per person. However the only real negative, which was quite an issue for us whilst we were there, was the strong winds at night which caused a lot of noise outside (it sounded like the tree branches above hitting the roof of the hostel). We were in an upstairs room, so perhaps less of a problem for the rooms on the ground floor. However for us, this meant very disturbed sleep both nights we were there. I appreciate that the hostel cannot control the weather! However the noise was so loud, there must be some steps that be taken to reduce the noises the wind causes.

Common area. you will always meet someone, everyone is open and welcoming

the staff does a good job cleaning. but the place is so run down it needs a complete work over… new sheets. pillows, mattresses bathroom etc

Tye host's where very nice and helpful. The environment is very friendly, cozy small hostel.

Unfortunately there is a mosquitoes attack on that hostel. It's unfortunately because it's very nice beside of that.

We could have stayed a month at least!

The vibe is just the best! Everyone is very friendly, Oscar and the volonteers made us feel so welcome and in just a few days it felt like a family stay! The kitchens are very good for cooking your own food. The common area helps for socialising. Quiet at night, no earplugs required

Glad when it was over with.

My room was comfortable and there were hot water showers.

There was cigarette smoke permiating into everywhere; The managers did not agree, but they were two of the biggest smokers in the place. The bedroom curtains were not thick enough to keep out the street lights.....very bright room ALL NIGHT LONG. Thank you.9
