Nos estaban esperando a pie de calle. La mujer que nos recibió fue encantadora. Hablaba inglés perfecto, nos indicó en el mapa todo lo que se podía visitar y nos sugirió una ruta adaptada al tiempo disponible. Ubicación excepcional. Las habitaciones eran enormes. Camas cómodas. Desayuno buenísimo y recién hecho. Es una casa tradicional. También tienen restaurante, ofrecen desayunos, comida y cena para público en general. Decidimos comer allí y estaba todo buenísimo, como el desayuno. Repetiríamos sin duda
Para nosotros no fue un problema porque ya viene especificado en la información del hotel, pero hay que tener en cuenta que como está situado dentro de la muralla, si decides llegar por tu cuenta en taxi/didi (como fue nuestro caso), te deja fuera de la muralla y debes andar unos 5 minutos para llegar al hotel. Si prefieres no caminar, puedes reservar con ellos la recogida directamente y te llevan hasta la puerta del hotel.

Vriendelijk personeel, werden opgehaald en in de vroege ochtend weggebracht naar het treinstation. Kregen zelfs een ontbijtpakketje mee met chopsticks met de hotelnaam erop. Locatie kan niet beter, in de hoofdstraat maar op de kamer merk je er niks van. Gratis kamerupgrade gekregen, perfect

The restaurant food was actually really great, although the "free breakfast" was just a toast with a runny egg and a couple of dumpling reheated in the microwave. Its an overall quite cheap hostel.
I don't think Pingyao is worth visiting for a foreigner. Yes, you might have a couple of good photo opportunities, but all the museums are in chinese, and the town has transformed mainly into a medieval disneyland, with locals travelling to this village exclusively to dress as medieval people. There is a confusion with the hotel location. When you look it up in google maps, the browser takes you to an empty alleyway outside the city. The actual location in Google Maps is "Mini Guest House". If you can skip Pingyao, do it.
