Very nice traditional multi course vegetarian meals for both breakfast and dinner. The service during the meals was prompt and attentive. I had a beautiful traditional room overlooking the gardens, and was quite peaceful. It did include a private bathroom, which was nice. The monks were welcoming and I found peace watching their morning service that all can attend. The building and grounds are quite beautiful to look upon.
There really wasn’t any negative aspects. My only gripe is that I would have liked coffee to be available for breakfast, and not something you pay a small fee for in the lobby. But, coffee is not their traditional aspect of their diet, and I was there to experience their way of life, so I did understand.

Helpful staff, good clean rooms, very comfortable stay. Rooms were air-conditioned. Vegan food was excellent. Morning prayers were calming and peaceful.
Only one morning prayer was there that we could join. We were hoping to get some evening prayer of ritual as well.

Definitely THE best temple in Koyasan! Great location for the village and temple complex. The staff are fabulous, so helpful! The breakfast and dinner meals are included, served beautifully, and offer incredible taste! The rooms are lovely as is the overall environment. Wonderful stay.

We really liked the accommodation, the food (dinner and breakfast) and the location.
We found it very pricey. Also we didn’t like that you have to pay extra for a meditation hour and to get a tour of the monastery and history of Mt. Koyasan…. We only pay for the meditation, but for the price we paid for night it could have been included…
