Rare Unobstructed Diamond Head-Ocean Views, Best location, Pool, 1 minute to Beach
About this condo rental
Situated in Honolulu, this lovely condo for $150 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. We are so excited to add this legally permitted studio to our Waikiki vacation rentals. Located only a minute from Waikiki Beach, this piece of paradise provides unobstructed views. Instead of staring at another condo building, you'll see the greenery of Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo, Diamond Head, and Waikiki Beach. Yet it is very close to all the wonderful Waikiki Amenities. We looked at rooms in this building for ten years and finally found this fantastic studio. We installed new granite counters, a full-size refrigerator, a kitchen sink, high-quality split air conditioning, a 40" flat-screen TV, and much more. Stay connected with complimentary high-speed fiber optic cable WIFI and enjoy streaming your favorite shows on Netflix, Amazon Video, and others on the internet-connected TV. It is an excellent location for those that love the outdoors. The lovely Kapiolani Park and the beach are across the street, where you can walk, run, surf, boogie board, swim, and even hike up Diamond Head! It is also the perfect location if laying on the beach is your form of exercise! Is surf up? Just look out the window to find out! The prime boogie-boarding spot in Waikiki is only 1 minute away and we provide two adult-size boogie boards, two Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs and a beach umbrella. Adjacent to the boogie-boarding site is a huge beach area protected by a sea wall that forms a gigantic saltwater pool with lifeguards for added safety. Though the room is on the small side, you have a table and chairs on your private lanai (balcony) with an unobstructed Diamond Head and ocean view; you also have use of the huge observation deck with stunning views on the 10th floor. Parking is available at the on-site parking garage at Waikiki's most reasonable rate, especially considering that we are virtually across the street from the world's most famous beach. Details on reserving parking are provided after booking. The room comes with free private WIFI, flat screen tv, cable TV, all linens, beach towels, full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, induction cooktop with pots and pans, coffee maker, toaster, dishes and utensils, iron and ironing board, two full-size boogie boards, 2 Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs, and a small beach cooler. For your convenience and security, we will ask you for a code that is easy for you to remember, and we will use it to set the keypad lock to the room. The Waikiki Grand Hotel offers fantastic amenities, including a beautiful lobby (with a grand piano), front desk concierge services, a swimming pool, coin operated laundry facilities, a hamburger restaurant, another restaurant/bar, onsite parking garage, two elevator and the 10th floor boasts a remarkable observation deck with panoramic views of Diamond Head, Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo, and Waikiki Beach. Great location and good value. Owner was very helpful.

Overall, it was the perfect location for what we wanted to do. The room was a little tight for the amount of luggage we had along with us but we loved just sitting on the balcony to start and end our day. There must be hot water supply issues because it was very difficult to even get a warm shower. Most of the time, it was too cold for our liking.

Just a quick stay in Oahu before heading back home. Amazing location in Waikiki with amazing views. Great parking situation as well. The room itself is small but met our needs well, had everything we neede

The room itself is very dated. Bed tables & duvey are really old school. Photos are a bit deceiving due to the mirrors everywhere. Room was very small but clean. 1 person bathroom for sure, you can hardly turn around. But..OMG the view in the morning from the lanai was spectacular! Location was great..2 minute walk to the beach. The owner was very responsive. Bring extra t-paper..1 & 1/4 roll for a 7 day stay..thank goodgness for the tissues! And only 2 towels, for a woman with long hair this is not ideal but we made it work..washed them ourselves a few times..too much of a pain to get housekeeping to bring 2 clean towels every 3 days. Would stay at this place but maybe a bigger room.

Great location if you like it quieter. Fabulous view. Close to the beach. 45 minute walk to Diamond head trail head. Lots of mirrors makes it feel larger.

This was a great little unit that was perfect for our 1 week stay! The location to catch all the sunrise & sunsets. One look out the window to see the surf is perfect! We only needed to step on to the lanai to listen to the birds view the flamingos across the rd at the zoo or be in awe of the majestic diamond head! We were able to exchange our towels daily for the beach & restock our toiletries when needed. Laundry & paid parking on site was great! Steve reached out to confirm all was as expected & if there was anything we needed or needed attention. This unit is as advertised & we will recommend & stay again in the future!

There are no surprises with this room. The room was exactly as pictured with one of the Best views in Wakiki! You get a great view of the ocean and Diamond Head as well. If you zoom in with your camera you can even see the adventure seekers at the top of the volcano!!!!

I loved the room, we stayed for our honeymoon and we had a wonderful time. I would stay again. The room is small, but it works great for two people.
Great views and location.

You cannot beat this location! My husband and I, spent 9 days at this condo for our honeymoon and could not have asked for a better experience! You are greeted every morning and evening by the staff, and they make you feel very welcomed and safe. You are steps away from Waikiki beach, and very close to stores and restaurants. The condo was very well equipped with all kitchen amenities, as well as boogie boards, beach chairs, and an umbrella which was extremely practical for beach hopping!! Will definitely come back again soon! Thank you Steve!!

The view is even better than it looks in the posting. It is awesome. There were several restaurants within the area around the hotel, and the beach is just steps away. Would love to visit again. The property manager, Steve, was super easy to work with. Very attentive to us. Let me know there was a music festival around the corner, checked to make sure everything was ok. 5 stars!!

9th floor balcony overlooks zoo, view of beach and Diamondhead, always a nice breeze, so we ate many meals there. The location is close to hop on/off trolleys which we used for transportation. Hotel staff is very helpful and Steve is very attentive. We would stay there again.

After breakfast on the balcony overlooking the Zoo and beach, we were able to go for a swim in the morning then drive around the island doing visits then in the evening walk around the shops. Excellent location.

The location and view were great, but the property could use remodeling. Good linens and a comfortable bed would improve the overall stay. The owner was very communicative and willing to help, but the company managing the building was subpar. The check in process was confusing. We had to go up to the 5th floor to an office/hotel room piled high with towels and cleaning supplies. There was barely room for two people to fit in the office. The view was what made this property tolerable.

It is an older hotel, perfect for a young couple on a budget. The room was small just like the description said. The problem was we didn't have room to open our luggage. I would replace the refrigerator with a smaller one. Move all kitchen plates, etc to shelving to the left of the sink. Get rid of pots because there isn't a stove or oven. Add luggage racks were the pots and pan where and a shelves to each side of the tv. I gave a one for communication with the property manager because it was excessive, at least 2 text, 5 emails, and a phone call during our 2 night stay.

Small unit, older building which is expected of the area. For me it was a place to sleep with a nice view so worked out. Basic amenities in the unit as noted in the description but the proximity to beach and activities was perfect.

Great location with a spectacular view. We had everything we needed in the heart of it all. Also had a car with on-site parking to go explore for the day then come back and relax at night which was so nice. I would highly recommend.
Steve was great. Much appreciated

Steve, the owner of the property was great. He was always available to communicate. Unfortunately, at the time there was a building issue - totally unusual and unrelated to Steve’s apt so we had to relocate within the building, but Steve and the staff took great care of us, and we had a terrific stay. The staff was great. They were very helpful and provided us with an alternative stay within the building. The pictures are accurate. The apt is small as we expected, but, clean and had everything you’d need. Location is easy for food, coffee, day trips and beach. Special thank you to William, also, who went above and beyond to accommodate us. Very friendly place overall. Love the “puppy” up on the roof deck - Victoria. 😄

We were so disappointed in our studio. We felt that it was grossly exaggerated on VRBO. It set the tone for a disappointing first and probably last visit to Honolulu.

If you have lots planned on Oahu, and love morning coffee/evening wine on the lanai, then this is the place for you! As other reviews have stated, the unit is small, but just fine for a couple - and the view and location make up for the size. We used the chairs, cooler and boards for our time on the beach - which was a quick easy walk. Fun to watch the beach volleyball and there were lots of places to grab something to eat before we found our patch of sand. We had to do the Diamond Head hike after looking at it out the window! We got a parking spot and it was a bit tight but we’re glad we had a vehicle to do several tours around the island. We didn’t cook at the unit but it was great for breakfast and snacks. Had no trouble finding places for dinner - at most a 15 minute walk. Checkin and the front desk was good. Steve checked in a couple times to see if we needed anything - but there were no issues at all. It is an older building and a petite place - but you’re not there for the room - you’re there for Oahu! Loved our stay!

This room worked perfectly for my short visit. The check-in process went very smoothly, and I appreciated the detailed email before my arrival and the follow-ups, too. The view was everything I love about Waikiki and more: the zoo, Diamond Head, lots of green, and being close to the water. The location is perfect for renting a Hui car and ordering an Uber car or meal. This room was a great place for us to sleep and recharge. The room was small, but that's just what we wanted. The photos do not do the view justice; it's genuinely incredible.

Very clean. Bed was comfortable, but pillows were not. Nicely equipped kitchenette. Bathroom very small and would have been tough had my girlfriend joined me. Location was perfect. And Steve the property manager was Johnny on the spot and very welcoming.

We loved our stay with Steve as host! From booking until final checkout, the process was easy - he checked in a few times to see if we needed anything or if the property needed any attention. The location of the property is perfect if you want to explore Waikiki area and it’s easy to navigate in/out of to go explore the rest of Oahu. The best part is the views from your balcony! Perfect view of diamond head and you do get to see some ocean/beach, you can even see the Waikiki fireworks from the balcony or go to the top floor and have a prime viewing spot. 10/10 recommend booking with Steve as he is an attentive host and makes the process so easy.

This was our first stop while vacationing in Oahu. The location was amazing and the views from the balcony was perfect, watching the sunrise over diamond head was beautiful. Walk across the street to the zoo or down a block to swim on the beach, everything is so close. The check in was easy and hosts were helpful. The building was very nice but the pool was less than impressive. The room was comfortable and clean but not as remodeled as I thought it would be and it was smaller than the pictures showed. I would still 100% recommended this room, just want anyone that reads this to come in with accurate expectations. Thank you for letting us stay, it was great!

Our stay was perfect! We were close enough to Waikiki to walk to everything we wanted to do, yet on the 9th floor, we had a beautiful view of the ocean on one side and of Diamondhead on the other. Our first morning we walked to the beach and had an incredible morning swim! There was a bit of traffic noise, especially Friday and Saturday night, but it truly wasn’t bad, and I actually kinda enjoyed it. It died down relatively early, regardless. The room was exactly as described, and the owner had even made sure to have the air on for us and have the room cooled off for us when we got there. The room is small, but honestly it was bigger than some of the reviews made it seem. If you take a lot of cruises, I think you will find it bigger than your stateroom. The mattress was comfortable, and the linens were nice, too.
The owner even reached out to us a few times to make sure we were being well taken care of. The staff at the front desk was super helpful and friendly. I would 100% recommend this stay to anyone who wants to be in the heart of the action, but still have a great view!

While this is a small room, the friendliness of the property staff, the fantastic views from the lanai and the great location made our stay just perfect. The kitchen is equipped so that eating in is always possible. The sunrises over Diamond Head were great - with a cup of Hawaiian coffee on the lanai! Location made walking Waikiki very easy. Available parking at a reasonable price was also a bonus. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. We did not have time to use the hotel facilities made available, so we can’t comment.
Steve was so professional in all communication. And he is a thoughtful and considerate host. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary with our trip to all 4 major Hawaiian Islands. Steve provided us with celebratory champagne. A nice touch.
Great stay!

Our rental at the Grand Waikiki was much smaller than the photos implied: just big enough for a queen bed and a chair. Yet it had the essentials: small private bathroom, a kitchenette, and a balcony. Grand, it is not. The hotel has seen better days. But the location is marvelous: right across the street from the zoo and also from Waikiki Beach. Lovely view of Diamond Head without a forest of sky scrapers--just trees and birds. The tenth floor rooftop offers grand views for sunrise and sunset, with small tables and chairs. The parking garage charges less than most Waikiki hotel garages. Just watch yourself in the basement garage. Very steep ramp. All in all, it served us well. Lots of hotels, restaurants within walking distance, and of course dozens of ABC stores and coffee shops, including the inevitable Starbucks right around the corner.

Location location location!!! This condo is right on the edge of all the hustle and bustle of Waikiki beach. The beach is a quick walk across the street and the view of diamond head is stunning. We walked to dinner along the beach every night. The best part of this condo was Steve! He checked on us three different times during our short stay to make sure everything was going well. The front desk was also friendly and helpful whenever we needed them! Steve’s condo is small but it functions as a perfect home base for all your Oahu adventures! We can’t wait to stay here again!

We were so happy to find this rental at the "most perfect location" in Honolulu…..and very reasonably priced. Unobstructed views of Diamond Head and the Waikiki Beach, which is two blocks away. The condo room within the Waikiki Grand Hotel is tiny, but has all you need and is great for two people. The photos on the website are accurately depicted. Honestly you only sleep there. We did use the induction hot-plate and toaster for breakfast, however there is a Denny’s close by if you wish. We had other tasty meals throughout Honolulu (dinner reservations suggested). Iced coffee, around the corner from hotel, at Café Glace each afternoon was refreshing. Steve was very easy to communicate with and answered questions, etc. Check-in was also easy as the front desk staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a rental car ($ paid parking extra) with access to the underground garage a breeze. It was nice to see a laundry room onsite. Locals told us it has been extremely warm during our stay….. as we are from New England we noticed the balmy temps. Not to worry the unit has air conditioning…thank goodness. : ) Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We loved staying here! Everything you need is within an easy walk - beach, restaurants, stores! The property staff were fabulous and everything outlined by the property owner was accurate. Communication with the owner was great as to check-in/check-out and property access. We loved it here!

The property is located in an excellent area. That said, the hotel has seen better days and is showing it’s age. The unit was extra small due to the addition of a full size refrigerator and small bar sink in the living area.
In addition, when the bar lets out on the street level it can get rather loud.

This property is in a great location! Shops and food choices walkable and short walk to the beach. Nice to have chairs , cooler, and boogie boards to use as well. We were there only 2 nights. Since it is a VRBO a few different rules apply. You can get as many beach towels as you want but bath towels was an issue. But I contacted Steve and was able to get more bath towels. Small studio room but was all we needed for our short stay and your never in your room.

Perfect location for those who want unobstructed views and easy access to the east side of Waikiki. Enjoyed coffee on the balcony overlooking the zoo and awesome views of Diamond Head and the beach. Some street noise at night, but that's typical of Waikiki. Unit is small, but comfortable, perfect for a solo traveler or a couple packing light. Excellent communication and instructions from Steve.

The condo has a great view of both Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head, absolutely breathtaking. Steve was wonderful, we had no issues which is great and he answered our questions quickly even providing recommendation for cab service. It is near everything. Aloha.
