Very convenient location as it’s in between JR Nikko and Tobu Nikko stations. The owner of the place is incredibly friendly and hospitable. She introduced us to a nice little Onsen and drove us there for a bath and picked us up again to drive us to a supermarket. She even made us play with sparklers on our last night as a fun way to bond with the other guests. Overall our stay was incredibly enjoyable and pleasant i highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay at nikko.

Location is great, couldn't ask for a better one. Staff is amazing, helped us with all our plans the next day since it was raining. They were so so helpful and friendly!!

Very comfortable place, near the station, and is exactly as described. The owners are very nice!! Definitely would recommend it

The room we stayed in was nice - the upper floor has a traditional feel. It was very close to the station and the only bakery open early and with baked goods and coffee. The staff were really nice and welcoming. It was very clean :-)
Because it was very close to the station, it was very noisy- you could hear the announcements in the station as well as the trains. The entrance to the hostal was a bit strange with a washbasin right there when you entered, it led to a very messy and old fashioned / seedy sitting room on one side and a small kitchen on the other.
There was only one shower for a 12-bed hostal (2 dorms of 4 bunks each and 2 rooms sleeping 2) and 2 toilets and 2 wash basins.
