Nestled in Kuttawa, this charming house for $533 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. FALL SPECIAL: THIRD NIGHT FREE WITH TWO NIGHTS PAID SEPT 4 TO NOV 30. This four bedroom log home is located on 26 wooded acres in Lyon County Kentucky a half mile from beautiful Barkley/Kentucky Lakes, one of the largest man-made lakes in the U.S. with boat launch 1/2 mile from the cabin. Four marinas in close proximity for boat rental. Fish, ski, wake board, picnic or lunch at waterside restaurants. Enjoy your own private 5 acre lake stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish (no fishing license required) or just relax at the boat house or on the screened in porch. Available for your use are 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, a small fishing boat with trolling motor and a water bike. We have life jackets for swimmers. This is Nature's Paradise whether you are 5 or 85. Besides the fire pit, horse shoes and, tree house there is an open field for other activities such as volley ball, baseball, or football. Use your imagination.

I absolutely loved this place. Our kids played for hours in the tree fort, or looking for frogs in the frog pond, or playing with the mini-cornhole set. The adults enjoyed coffee on the screenporch and beer/wine on the patio and dock. The private trails were also fantastic and we basically never left the property all weekend. Owner was responsive to minor issues (e.g. smoke detector battery replacement), which were rectified right away.
We are already searching future dates to come back again. Highly recommend.

This was by far my favorite vacation ever!! So relaxing out on our own private lake. We floated and fished for hours each day we were there. We stayed a week and we did not want to leave. The kids loved the water bike and the kayaks the best. They also loved jumping off the dock. The screened in back porch was a hit for us adults to play card games and relax. The beds were all comfortable. The kitchen has everything you will ever need. We had 3 big thunder storms on our trip there, which were cool, but I'm sure there were tons of sticks to pick up after our stay.
There was a water park about 15 minutes away, which was really fun!
We already can't wait to come back to this cabin!
I would recommend anyone to go...just do it!

We did see some cowboys, they owned the farm next door and were just cutting through by the lake. We also seen a bald eagle fly over the lake into a nearby tree. They have a pizza place called Cabin pizza which was so good!! Not much shopping around, which was fine with me. I didnt even miss watching tv. They do have a couple tvs but the lake took up a lot of our time :)

This is a beautiful property and having the lake to ourselves was incredible. The property was very private, except for people riding horses- suddenly they were beside us in the driveway. You do need to watch out for horse poop on some of the trails. The lake was full of fish which we caught and released daily. The lake is big enough for swimmers and fishers to be out at the same time. There were multiple watercraft to be out on the water in. The house has multiple areas for everyone to be without being on top of each other. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen in all my years of staying in vrbos. The kitchen itself was immaculate. The beds were comfortable. The house and property have a summer camp vibe to them. It is a very relaxed feel in the home, easy to be comfortable.
We did feel the home needed some thorough cleaning, and some new sheets in one of the bedrooms. It wasn't something we even bothered the home owner with until we left just so he could be aware. The information was gratefully received.
I would absolutely rent this home again.

We enjoyed going on night hikes, swimming, kayaking, etc. The inside was very rustic looking, which we love. We had 6 adults, a 16 year old and a 2 year old and everyone seemed to have their own space and favorite things to do.
Do NOT leave trash can outside by grill open or the critters will have a feast (the person before us did not empty it out so we cleaned up the leftovers haha). We met the caretaker twice He was there to fix anything, feed the fish and help us charge the boat motor and put the canoes back in their holder. We did not expect him and were not sure we wanted or needed him there daily but he only ended up coming two days that we were aware of, so that was fine.
Eat dinner Friday or Saturday night at Buzzard Rock Marina. Good food and music, right on the water. Fish at the dams. Take a day trip to Land Between the Lakes and try and see buffalo and elk. It was great and we may be back someday. Thank you for allowing us to stay!

Our family really enjoyed staying at this secluded cabin and lake for our family vacation. This was my first time in booking a VRBO and though I was a little hesitate on what to expect it all worked out. The place was well maintained and lots of room and things to do. We liked it so well that we stayed at the cabin and lake our whole stay. My son caught a very large catfish and bass. Grandsons enjoyed the water bike the best and their own private area in the loft. We only had one problem with the grill and the caretaker took care of it right away.

The cabin has plenty of space for all to spread out. The driveway goes from flat to steeper hill with loose stone. My husband was on his motorcycle so he kept his bike covered at the bottom of the hill with no issues. The home has everything you need to stay in and have meals and grill. It was very hot the week prior to July 4th and the AC kept the home cool. We didn't experience any issues during our stay. We did have a surprise with 3 people on horseback while we were floating one day riding around the pond and trails. We think they were lost. Having Directv was wonderful so we could watch some ball games in the evening. A lot of time was spent on the screened porch. My favorite spot! The water toys and boat house are nice. The dock is wood and aging so be careful with young children and bare feet when running on deck and dock. We only left to visit the Patti's Settlement at Grand Rivers which is super cute! Groceries are either 15 or 25 minutes away if you prefer WalMart. Would stay again!

Stayed the weekend with cousins and our aunt. The owner was there to greet us he was very pleasant. the place was spacious it had a hunters cabin feel. There was a problem with one of the showers and it was quickly corrected. We had a great time and we thoroughly recommend this cabin for others!

This cabin is one of those rare experiences that delivers on all your expectations. The cabin itself is rustic yet luxurious with a full array of thoughtful amenities. There are spaces for children, adults, group activities as well as relaxing separation. Bedrooms all cozy with great beds and places to store things or plug in electronics.
The property is a family vacation fantasy come to life! A private lake with canoes, kayaks, a waterbike, boathouse and spacious dock for fishing and swimming. There is a beach for sandcastles as well. All of the equipment such as life jackets, fishing rods, inner tubes etc. are also on site. Oh, don’t forget the treehouse, separate frog pond and outdoor fire pit!
Lastly, the opportunity to hike on the property and see wildlife is amazing. We saw deer, wild turkeys, geese, turtles, hawks and a great collection of birds. The trails were well maintained despite our visit being in early spring. We also were in range of day trips to the Shawnee National Forest and Land Between the Lakes Recreation area which offer additional hikes, discoveries and adventures.
You can’t go wrong with a family vacation to this lovely property ideally situated for a nice long stay.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The house is in very good condition and very clean. Kitchen well stocked with everything you may need. Two full-sized refrigerators and two ovens. We had 7 people, and there was plenty of room for everyone. My kids (Age 11 and 13) say the Wi-Fi was slow. Speed test showed 2-3 mbps download. We had great cell coverage (Verizon). Ultimately, the kids had a great time without stellar Wi-Fi, which I prefer anyway.
The lake is so beautiful and secluded. Plenty of canoes, kayaks, and a water bike to play on. The tree house is currently under construction. The trail around the entire property is about 1 mile. It is well marked and well maintained, and there are other trails cross-crossing through the property to explore.
The owners even had the two indoor fireplaces and the outdoor fire pit full of firewood and ready to light.
I would definitely recommend staying here.

This property was beautiful. We enjoyed the trails, fishing, canoes, kayaks, and water bike. The fall colors were breathtaking. The cabin had plenty of room for 10 of us and was well-stocked. The decor is quite rustic with numerous trophy animals and taxidermy skins. That could be a concern to those who are sensitive to them. The handyman was very friendly and informative. We hope to get to stay again when we can get the schedules of 3 families to allow it!!

We’ve rented this house several times before. It’s a great central location for friends spread out in different cities and states. We like the remoteness and wilderness feel of the place. One in our party is having health issues and once we got him into the house he was able to use his small electric scooter to get around the main floor and master bedroom with ease. The outside terrain is a bit too rugged for the scooter.

Our family had a wonderful time here. The weather was great and we spent most of our time at the water playing with all the water toys (3 kayaks, 2 canoes, water bike, trolling boat and even a big floating tub) on the property.
The cabin was really decorated well (our kids loved all the wildlife but could scare little ones) the ladies in our group questioned how they kept everything so clean. The beds were comfortable and everything you could need is provided inside (except a crockpot and some sharp steak knives). The pantry items where a pluse, way more then we expect.
We created lots of family memories here. We had a visitor for our stay it was a Hound dog Tucker Blue. Super sweet our kids loved home and played with him the whole time. He did have a phone number on his tages, his owners picked him up and 10 minutes latter he was back with us. It was a great relaxing time

The property is beautiful and has lots to offer for outdoorsy people. The pond was fun to swim in and the floating bike was a blast! Some of my family was not fond of the "stuffed" animals, but overall it was a great place!

We wanted to do something fun with the grandboys before they went back to school and this was the perfect weekend. Beautiful weather, beautiful property with lots to do and plenty of wildlife to sit and admire. We loved every minute of our time here and voted to make this an annual trip if possible. Sports schedules get crazy and having this relaxing, fun filled family time was great. This is a well equipped (house wise and activity wise) place for a family or friends to gather and spend some quality time. We will be back.
