Beautiful house with bitter rip-off

The house is very nice - just like the picture. The sauna was definitely a delight. The kitchen was well equipped, the living room was cozy, the neighborhood was pretty calm. There were a lot of rooms.

Several months after booking, I received a WhatsApp message from an Indian number asking me to complete an additional online registration. Although the dates and property name were correct, the linked page requested credit card details, despite payment being handled via Booking.com. The owner later confirmed via Booking.com that they never communicate through WhatsApp, which suggests a data breach, as the sender had accurate booking information. A few days before arrival, I received another WhatsApp message, this time from a Belgian number, requesting a €700 deposit. Since I had been told not to expect WhatsApp communication, I asked for confirmation via Booking.com, which was repeatedly avoided. Because the phone number matched one shown in a Booking.com message, I attempted a transfer, but the recipient name did not match the IBAN. After several failed attempts, I was asked to bring the deposit in cash. Upon arrival, the owner gave a lengthy introduction focused mainly on rules and restrictions, making the stay feel more like a dormitory than a vacation home. I was then presented with a handwritten list of additional charges, including electricity (€0.70/kWh), water (€7/m³), heating (€6/unit), gas, environmental tax, and cable TV. Apart from the tourist tax (€2 per person), these charges were either not mentioned or only listed as “possible” on the Booking.com page, and utility prices were significantly above market rates. It also became apparent that agreements made via Booking.com were not communicated to the owner. The owner asked me to write down my IBAN by hand and did not provide a receipt for the cash deposit. Although she required advance notice for a final inspection at departure, she did not read the message I sent the evening before. Overall, the experience felt poorly coordinated and unprofessional.

Les 200 euros de charges alors que l’on a pas chauffer la maison !!! Donc pour la tv internet l’eau et le gaz c’est bco trop excessif! On s’es chauffer au bois tout le week-end on avait Eteind le thermostat !

De matrassen mogen wat beter en in de tuin valt er niet veel te doen voor de kinderen
