About this house rental
Nestled in Gulf Cove, this attractive house for $137 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Welcome to this perfectly located house on the banks of the scenic Myaka River, with direct access to Charlotte Harbor, and the Gulf of Mexico. Once inside, relax under cathedral ceilings, with an open floor plan that includes a large, white porcelain tiled, eat-in kitchen with a breakfast bar area, leading to a very spacious great room with cable television, WiFi internet, and a professional organ, that looks out over the 'Florida room,' and the gigantic lanai, which houses the spa, and really large pool with water falls, through the sliding doors, and finally, toward the salt-water canal. All bedrooms are furnished with flat screen TV's. The master suite has a king size bed, 42' flat panel TV with a DVD player, private bathroom with two walk-in closets, and includes a large capacity, and energy efficient washer and dryer, and offers additional space for storage. The fish cleaning station is located on the 60' dock, next to the boat lift, which is next to 'The Hand of God.'

We had a great time, the only thing was the hurricane damage has not been completely fixed so the pool and spa are not screened but it didn't affect us.

This property sits on a canal in a quite neighborhood near several excellent beaches. The home is large with ample sleeping arrangements and a nice pool and spa. The only negative is the remaining storm damage from Ian which the owner is working on. We stayed during Hurricane Idalia and the home held up well and kept us sheltered.

What a wonderful place this is. Clean comfortable and relaxing. Just what we were looking for Beautiful home on a canal heated pool. Can not say enough about how much we enjoyed it. Our family got together for a relaxing weekend of sitting by the pool and just spending time together and this home was just right. Would recommend this home and would book it again

We stayed at this house while visiting some family who live in the same neighborhood and it was excellent. The house is beautiful and spacious. The pool is particularly lovely. We had a very good stay and can't wait to stay at this house again when we visit next.

This property is absolutely wonderful, it's a beautiful house and just as beautiful neighborhood. The owner Len is great he kept in touch over the summer and up too when we got there. I would tell anybody it's worth staying there.

Lovely home
We enjoyed 2 weeks at this lovely home. Leonard is a gracious and kind host. Pool is beautiful and location is within 5 miles of great shopping and restaurants. We'll be back next year!

We really enjoyed the house. I had young children and they loved the pool. The location was what we wanted because we have family near by, since this is a vacation, sea world and lego land are about 2.5 hours away. You will spend 5 hours a day driving there and back.
The owner replied quickly to emails and the cleaning lady was nice when we ran into her at check-in.
The only negative that I can say about this house is that there is no smart tv or an alternative to a smart tv (amazon fire stick/apple tv). The wifi worked great, but we hardly turned on the tv because the children didn't have access to netflix. Not really a big issue since we didn't come on vacation to watch tv, but it would have been nice on some nights.
I would recommend this house to anyone that understands where this house is located. It's about 20 minutes from some really nice beaches, and about 2.5 hours from the usual Florida vacation theme parks.

Read to the end. It got worse and worse. The owner doesn’t have access details in VRBO and never sent anything. It took more than 3 hours past check-in of calls, emails, and on hold with VRBO to get access. Once in, we first realized one bedroom had water damage and was so wet and mildew-smelling that we couldn’t use it. The carpet floor was covered in big wet stains. we rented a 3 bedroom home and couldn’t use it so the kids had to sleep on the couch all week. The home has visible structural type damage that we guessed allowed the water intrusion. At first the owner acted like he didn’t know about it but then said he did. There was mold in the showers, air handler was all moldy too. Floors were clean but nothing else was. Cabinets, doors, walls, curtains, tubs, showers. freezer, etc all dirty. The spa completely drained 3 times while we were there. The sliding glass doors don’t work. The grill l was told was there had a big “do not use” sign on it. The beds were made but the sheets were dirty. We even found dirty socks under the pillows. When we tried to find clean sheets we went through the whole linen closet and multiple sheets had blood stains. We spent the whole first night cleaning and doing laundry. We didn’t want to cancel the kids vacation. The hall bathroom door didn’t work well and we had to rehang it every time we used the shower. It even fell on my 8 year old. It was very scary. The stove and fridge do not work well. We bought steaks and they went bad in the fridge. When we rented it we picked it because it looked clean in the pictures and because of the outside area and location. All of the benches outside were broken. This house has not had a deep clean or any typical maintenance in a long time. I seriously think it has structural damage as well. It should not be allowed on VRBO especially since it has no property manager to take care of it. The owner is out of state. Also, we paid in full and then got an additional “power” bill that wasn’t in the listing details. The owner said Florida people just use too much A/C and blamed the pool. We should have known it wasn’t going to go well but there were so few places where we wanted that we could bring the boat. Overall, we will never use VRBO again. There’s no owner accountability and this property was not cared for.

Cozy and spacious
Overall it was a nice property. Quite neighborhood, and close enough to area beaches(Englewood fishing pier was about 15 minutes away).
Showers were clean, beds were comfortable. Dryer was a little loud, but easily quieted by shutting the utility room door. Pool and spa were relaxing.
I was expecting to catch some crabs and pinfish for bait in the canal behind the house, however no fish were present despite trying every trick I knew, and only 2 small blue crabs after 4 days. The canal doesn't have enough grass to support baitfish, so no bigger fish either.
Check-in was easy, and owner responded to questions quickly. I'd stay here again.
