Superb B&B in excellent setting. Very highly recommended!

The breakfasts were superb - loads of choice, generous portions and excellent ingredients. The owners are very thoughtful - there's a small fridge in the breakfast room for guests to take milk to their rooms. No UHT milk in sachets! We had their smallest room, but it was still big enough. The bathroom was lovely, too. Parking was very good - the road immediately outside, or just round the corner. Location-wise Fernleigh is at the top of the famous hill, so you only need to tackle the incline if you really want to :o) The Grosvenor pub just round the corner does excellent, value for money meals. We used Fernleigh as a base to visit Durham, Whitby etc.

Superb and outstanding in all areas.

Beautifully renovated accommodation, breathtaking from the minute you walk through the door. The attention to detail is outstanding and the little touches, such as chocolate brownies in your room when you arrive make it that extra bit special. Jane and Chris were fabulous hosts. We will DEFINITELY return! Thanks so much.

Perfect place to stay

We were greeted by our very welcoming host and had a bonus of home made brownies to enjoy, on top of a beautiful room in a beautiful house. So many special, thoughtful touches, and I was pleased to see thoughtfully chosen, environmentally friendly soaps and shampoos in the bathroom. Chris was the perfect host, we couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Lovely visit and can’t wait to come back!

The B&B is in the perfect location at the top of Robin Hood’s Bay so you get lovely views over the bay. The owners are both super friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and really nicely decorated throughout.

The rooms do get quite warm so you have to have the windows open for air, which is fine but the seagulls then wake you up super early. Only tiny downside of being at the coast!

Everything... Friendly hosts, lovely clean rooms and dining area. The breakfast was very tasty and freshly made. Nice touches such as fresh milk, water and brownie in room. Situated at the top of the bay a few minutes walk to the beach which is easy on the way down! I would recommend Fernleigh and would definitely return.

An absolute gem!

from the moment we were welcomed by Chris and Jane we felt welcomed. Safety was paramount but this didn’t spoil our stay. Our hosts were very diligent about COVID risks. Excellent location with sea views and good to do the hill to work off the fabulous breakfasts. Food was scrumptious and Chris the perfect waiter, nothing felt it was too much trouble.
