About this condo rental
Nestled in Maalaea, this lovely condo for $479 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Relax and enjoy your Maui vacation in our 6th floor Penthouse Corner suite at Sugar Beach Resort. The ocean views are stunning, to the left are the Kihei and Wailea resort areas, directly in front is the deserted isle of Kaaholawe, and off to the right are the Pali cliffs and the Maalaea Harbor, a feast for the eyes. The double lanai brings the ocean into the living and dining areas of the condo! Open the lanai doors and enjoy the fresh ocean breezes or close the doors and relax in the central air conditioning. With no one above you and no one to the right, the condo is marvelously quiet and peaceful. You can prepare your meals in the condo or get take out from the little 'Sandwitch' restaurant found on site downstairs, or visit one of the many restaurants found just minutes away in the Kihei/Wailea areas. The kitchen and dining area is completely remodeled with new bamboo cabinets, granite countertops, a large granite island, beautiful stainless steel appliances and a fully stocked kitchen. There is also a full size washer and dryer in the condo. There are two bedrooms, one offering a comfortable king size bed and the second has two twin beds. Both have their own private bathrooms. Large closets with built in shelves make unpacking a breeze. There is a washer/dryer within the condo, and the kitchen is well stocked for meal preparation. Both bathrooms were remodeled and feature easy walk in showers with limestone tiles and well lit vanity areas. The resort has a secured heated pool area and hot tub, you will receive the code when you check in at the on-site registration desk. Within the complex there is an activities desk to help you make plans to explore the island, a small, but delicious, 'Sandwitch' restaurant/bar. There is ample parking in the large open lot and there are two elevators that provide access to all floors. There are even shopping carts near the elevators to help you get your belongings or groceries up to the condo. Sugar Beach Resort is centrally located in Maui, just about 20 minutes from the airport, only 10 minutes to Kihei and Wailea, and about 40 minutes over to Lahaina town. The beach in front of the condo stretches for miles in both directions, an early morning walk to check out the tide pools in the Maalaea direction is always a winner for those visitors waking up early with the time difference. Our Penthouse condo is a lovely relaxing environment to call home while you are visiting the island of Maui. Office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Hawaii time. We are closed on major and Hawaii based holidays. Please allow us until Monday to respond to your weekend inquiries. This site automatically hides this listing if we do not respond to "request to book" now inquiries within 24 hours. Request is made that you use this function on Sunday afternoon to allow us time to respond to your proposed booking. Thank you! Important Notice: Commencing in 2018 and every year thereafter, the Sugar Beach Resort pool and deck will be closed beginning the second Monday in September for one week for routine maintenance. Sugar Beach resort property was very well kept up. Penthouse 14 was very clean and had beautiful views. The management team we dealt with were wonderful. Very communicative. The only downfall with staying at this location is it’s very windy in the afternoon. The beach is long for taking long walks. It is not very wide. KIHEI is a very good centrally located area however, it is somewhat quiet. If you’re looking for a well populated area, this is not the place for you. For me and my family it was wonderful because you could drive to the populated areas, but come back to the peace and quiet. You do need a rental car if you plan on going places as you have to drive to get anywhere. The restaurant on property was good food and good service. Maui sights were very helpful setting up a snorkel putting for us. I would come back.

We are so happy we chose this property for our first visit to Maui. Sugar Beach was beautiful and peaceful. We loved walking along the undeveloped beach exploring among the rocks and tide pools to the northwest and walking to the farmers market, ABC store and shaved ice stand to the Southeast. It was a short drive to the shops, restaurants, aquarium and harbor. The property was as described and communication with the property manager could not have been better.

The view was amazing. The condo was updated and beautiful. I was amazed how well stocked it was, the Judge family thought of everything one would need to enjoy their time. I hope to come back in a couple years and would like to stay here again!!!

This is the second time we've stayed at this condo. It's nicely appointed (although it could use a few more plates) has comfortable beds, is very clean and of course, has an incredible view. Beautiful sunsets and whales from your lanai. Sugar Beach Resort is great - large heated pool, hot tub, a nice long beach and the grounds are very well maintained. Jean, who handled the rental arrangements was great a communicating.

Sugar Beach was an amazing place for me and my family over the 2022 holiday. The condo was spacious and had everything we needed for the 2 weeks we stayed. The kids loved the hot tub and pool. The community is friendly and engaging. Jane who managed the unit we stayed in was super helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend this property.

The property is as described. Walking in and seeing the view from the balcony is amazing! It was hard to leave the condo once I started my morning cup of coffee on one of the balcony loungers. Everything you need is there (and I loved that people had left coffee filters and small things for the next guests.) The binoculars for whale watching on the bookshelf are such a nice touch.
The only thing I would ask is to replace (or rotate) the mattresses in the second bedroom. The one I slept on had a dip on one side. I felt like I was falling out of bed every time I rolled over! Other than that, this property is great. I would definitely rent it again.

We chose Maui to bring the family together and celebrate each other. We flew in from Kauai and LA. The views were phenomenal, The lanai was incredible, we spent a lot of time out there. Beautiful open floor plan with perfect lighting. The newly refreshed kitchen & bathrooms were lovely. Wonderful stay! We tried to book the same unit again for the end of September but it's booked, sadly. It will be hard to beat the one. Dont really want to chose something different. Thanks for a nice, safe stay on Maui.

Breath Taking Ocean Views!
This was our 4th stay at this property. Each visit my husband, kids and I have had an amazing stay. Breath taking views of the ocean from all public rooms! Updated and well equipped kitchen. Easy access to large pool and beach. Room feels very private. Resort has never felt crowded. Deli on site. Quick walk to ABC store and 7 minute drive to Safeway (15 min to Whole Foods). Always perfect weather. We look forward to our next stay.

Location, Location,.....
My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights in this top floor condo unit in July. The management company provided great communications/instructions and immediately solved a minor issue with the door code upon our arrival. We found the unit exactly as advertised! Clean, very well appointed (especially the kitchen and in-unit washer/dryer) and the added benefit of having beach chairs, an umbrella, and coolers for use was very much appreciated. It is an easy drive or Uber/Lyft from the airport (15 mins) and the location makes a drive to Lahaina (about 25-30 mins non-rush hours) or the Wailea area (15-20 mins) very manageable. Miles of sandy beach to walk, swim, snorkel right at your doorstep and a fabulous view from the double-wide 180 degree (or more?) view lanai. It wasn't whale season but the unit had binoculars which would make viewing during that time even more enjoyable. The unit could use some updates or a refresh in the BR's and Baths (no TV's in the BR's but no big deal with that view!). The only things keeping this from a 5 star rating is the lack of beach front restaurants/sit down dining in the immediate area (nothing within walking distance anyway except for the on-site sandwich/bar), the refreshers, and the unfriendly check-in person (works for the condo association so not this unit owner's fault! and did not affect rating). But there are a small bakery (get there early!) and convenience store close by. So this is really a 4.5 rating.

A gentle man from the property management company answered the phone right away and was able to give me the correct code. Also the hair dryers that were at the property did not work and they delivered a new hair dryer within 2 days. There refrigerator was nice because it had a water and ice dispenser. We would stay her again.

Great stay for a 30-something couple and 60-something parents. Chill pool and hot tub, clean grills, gorgeous sunsets, huge lanai and very clean condo complete with beach chairs and umbrella. Very prompt communication and a great time! Thank you!
