About this house rental
Located in Mastic Beach, this lovely house for $733 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Enjoy beautiful sunsets over the bay on the wraparound deck of our spacious, newly-renovated house. Set overlooking Narrow Bay and pristine wetlands with magical views, big skies, shilf grass stretching to one horizon and the calm water of the bay to another, this is a special haven in the middle of Long Island's south shore. 10 minutes to Smith Point beach on the Fire Island National Seashore, 25 minutes to Westhampton and only an hour and 30 minutes from New York City, a short stroll takes you to a bay beach and a quiet marina. The ocean just beyond the bay and Fire Island Seashore can be seen on a clear day. Our preferred style is clean and modern and we love to cook-- we built the kitchen to be cooked in and designed the rest of the house to feel light and spare. Whether you dine outside on the deck or indoors in the modern kitchen, windows on three sides bring you sunshine and beautiful views, and in the morning you can enjoy your coffee sitting on one of two private decks off the upstairs bedrooms. Three bedrooms have Queen beds and one bedroom has two twins. The Master bedroom has its own bathroom with jacuzzi tub. There is wifi, central air, washer and dryer and BBQ gas grill. A bird-watcher's haven, (see more below), you can also fish in the bay and there is great surf-casting at nearby Smith Point. We have two kayaks for you to use. Although Mastic Beach is close to the Hamptons, it is NOT the Hamptons and not a fancy town. But it has a great old school Italian restaurant, an amazing butcher and two great bait and tackle shops. A short drive to Mastic seafood will get you the highest quality and largest selection of seafood around. (We love mastic seafood) But if you want to go out for dinner anywhere more upscale, you have to drive to Bellport, Patchogue, or East moriches. Cute bayside towns 20 minutes away. There are a supermarket, liquor store, pizza place and so on. We live a few streets away and are available to answer any questions you may have. The house is set up for enjoying the company of family and friends, relaxing, taking deep breaths, cooking and enjoying the views. It is not a party house and no parties or events are allowed. BIRD WATCHING: If you enjoy bird watching you may see a Wallet, Common Yellowthroat, Song Sparrow, Barn Swallow, Tree Swallow, Red Winged Black Bird, Glossy Ibis, Osprey and more. Walk your paddle board or kayak down to the bay or head to the ocean.

Just stayed at The Osprey for a family reunion in the area. What a beautiful place. So many birds! Beautiful breezes, beautiful views and peaceful. Just what we needed to enjoy nature and each other. The owner, Kimbe, was wonderful. She made sure the house had everything we needed and plenty of extras too in case we forgot anything and was extremely accommodating to our needs. Thank you so much!!

A real charm!

Lovely Getaway
The house is beautiful and the setting is amazing - the light shining through the reeds in the mornings and the evenings is gorgeous. It’s a really beautiful place to just hang out and it feels private and secluded. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen is well stocked. We stayed in November and house was warm and cozy.
Kimbe met us at check in and is an amazing host. She was reachable by text and responded immediately to any inquiries we had.
It’s a quick drive to the beach at Smith Point - we enjoyed a lot of walks along the beach. There are nice walks at the William Floyd Estate nearby as well.
Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

We had a great stay at this property. The house was a well stocked with everything needed. The host was very helpful. We used the Kayaks provided to boat across the intercoastal. You can beach on the bay side and take a short walk across Fyre Island to the ocean side. Had the beach to ourselves for 1 Mile in each direction. This is the key feature of this property in my opinion but need to be willing to put the effort to get across. Wasn't too bad, about .7 mile paddle.
I will say the biggest drawback about this house is the neighborhood just shortly past the house is a bit sketchy.
Overall though we had a great week.

Very relaxing stay
We had a wonderful time at Kimbe’s place, the property is secluded and was what we were looking for. Close drive to everything you need. Recommend an anti-bug repellent if you’re visiting this time of the year, as it is the mosquito and bee season. Beautiful sunsets, overall a very relaxing atmosphere.

An amazing house for quality time with friends!
I stayed here with my husband and friends over four days the July 4th week. The house is truly incredible - no neighbors, an amazing sea breeze and a great wrap around deck. There were a number of starlings nesting in different spots on the house as well and there are lots of birds that you can spot around. We spent most of our time at the house relaxing and used the grill to cook almost all our meals. Kimbe's kitchen is stocked with all the equipment you need including a blender we used to make gazpacho.
Kimbe is a very accommodating host who even provided us with extra bikes. One thing that stood out was how clean the house was.
In terms of what is around, we did go to the Smith Point Beach one day but there really was no social distancing in play there so we avoided going again. We also biked to the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge which has a great area for kayaking. There isn't much else to do in the neighborhood but I highly recommend the house as a space for relaxing with friends and family and enjoying the great breeze and views.

Spacious House With Great Views
House is really spacious, with 4 bedrooms (2 having on suite bathroom access), and a great living and dining area. Wrap around porch is great for views that can't be beat. House was very clean, and communication with the homeowner was very easy and timely. Would definitely stay here again!

Labor Day Weekend at Mastic Beach
This house was perfect for our extended family (3 generations). The spacious layout and individual bedrooms made it the perfect combination of common space and private sleeping. Both inside and outside dining were more than adequate for our large group. of ten. The pictures do not present the true beauty of the surroundings with an unusual amount of deck seating for reading and relaxing. As a group we have rented several houses in the past and this one is one we would come back to without any hesitation. We made use of the beach, Silly Lilly's for sail boat rentals and all in all had a memorable family weekend. Thank you Kimbe for making this work for all of us!

What a lovely home! Main level space was an inviting hangout area with a nice flow to the outdoor decks. Great for a large family! Our welcoming host made it a perfect weekend!

The description of the property is very accurate.
The neighborhood is not particularly fancy but once you get to the house, it is absolutely idyllic. Great views of the bay, lots of comfortable seating on deck, extremely quiet and peaceful. No house on either side. A couple hundred yards away from the water.
A few incremental points:
- Kimbe is extremely responsive and very flexible. She personally checked us in and showed us the house. She went out of the way to be helpful (e.g., I told her we were planning to cook fish and she left various types of seasonings for our use), it was truly appreciated
- Mattress quality was very high (at least the one I used) and it makes a difference
- Having a couple of bikes and kayaks coming with the house is a great added benefit
We were a group of 10 (incl. 3 kids) and it felt very spacious.
In terms of things to do, Smith Point beach is very close (you can park before the bridge and walk the rest to avoid the parking fee) and we rented small fishing boats at Silly Lily (~20 mins away).
Overall, highly recommended, we'll be back!

Serene and Stylish
The house is truly a bohemian modern escape, with the little touches that turn a weekend getaway into a relaxing vacation. From the decorating to fresh flowers, comfortable bedding and linens, it is a place that you would want to return. We fit 7 people with ease.
The owner is responsive and hospitable... our best VRBO host yet!
The location of the home near the water is perfect. Quiet, beautiful views, refreshing. I deducted one star because the closest town does not have as many places to eat or shop at like a typical beach town. But, that's not a big deal because the house is well equipped for cooking and nearby towns and beaches are fairly close.

Nice and spacious home with everything you will need
My team and I stayed here for almost a month while working on a project on Long Island. The house was clean and was more than adequate to house my team of 6. All of the amenities were available and the view was pretty nice. Watch out for the raccoons and the trash though as they don't seem to be bothered by people. Not really a big deal but the can tend to scare you when you least expect it. Kimbe was awesome and very accommodating.

You get what you see, plus a bit more.
This was our first trip out on Long Island, and was a great place to spend some time with our MA grandkids, and their folks. I would endorse and reiterate everything I have read in the previous reviews. Kimbe is great to work with, very responsive and helpful. We much appreciated the cucumbers and herbs that were brought from her garden; we put a serious dent in the basil in caprese that we prepared with delicious local tomatoes. There is a very nice gas grill on the deck that we enjoyed using. There is a smart TV in the family room, but we never turned it on. Bed was quite comfortable, and area is quite peaceful, which made for great sleeping. There were a great assortment of tools for cooking, and some nice unexpected touches like kosher salt, some spices, pickles, and condiments. Great place to get away from the crazy hub-bub.

Great escape from the City
Kimbe is a wonderful host, extremely responsive and helpful. Mastic is an interesting neighborhood to explore. The house is spare but tastefully furnished, has beautiful views, great light and comfortable beds. Great for a group of friends to hang out and cook. The decks are a huge plus. Definitely a fun alternative to going all the way to the Hamptons and spending way too much on a rental. Would recommend.

Exactly as described in the photos
Our family stayed Memorial Day weekend for a baseball tournament. We enjoyed the large open area for dining and the deck for grilling. The owner is available immediately for questions and was so thoughtful and accommodating throughout the whole process. If we are local, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Great modern house with amazing views!
Great modern house with amazing views and an open floor plan that was ideal for our Christmas family vacation. It was perfect for lounging with coffee and a book as mornings in the main room were sunny and warm, despite the frigid temps outside. I would definitely come back in summer for the complete experience!

A dreamy escape from it all
Kimbe has created a unique vacation home that offers a welcome respite from day-to-day life. The kitchen and gas grill are perfectly situated for cooking and entertaining. Sight lines are perfect; birdwatching is, too. Th beach is a short drive away. We're already planning our next trip to Mastic Beach.
