About this cabin rental
Situated in Raystown Lake, this lovely cabin for $400 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Fantastic log home within walking distance to Raystown Lake, only minutes from marina and boat launch. Plenty of room for your family and friends with amenities such as a pool table, ping pong, free wifi, fire pit, and large sports court for basketball, tennis, volleyball, etc. (Sports court is on the property and private, it is not shared by others) Fully stocked kitchen with grill for outside cooking. Four large bedrooms (one is a bunk room for kids) with 3 and a half baths. Large open concept great room/kitchen/dining area where the whole family can meet and relax. Basement rec room also has a flat screen smart tv with cable. Located on a ridge top with easy access to surrounding activities and only 4.5 miles from Huntingdon with grocery store, restaurants, gas station, etc. You can walk to Raystown lake from house in about 10 minutes. Sleeps 12 guests, rates are up to 8 guests, there is an extra guest charge for guests 9-12 and is calculated once you select dates. Great room has a masonry fireplace shown in pictures, we do not allow guests to use fireplace without special permission, please let us know if you have questions. There is an outdoor security camera that covers the driveway area, it is not pointed towards any interior space.

Was impressed with the cleanliness of the home. Not a speck of dust to be seen anywhere. The entire house is well appointed and kitchen is fully stocked with every kind of cooking/baking/utensil you would need. Plenty of space for our family of 5- 2 adults and 3 boys ages 10, 14, 16. Was the perfect quiet sanctuary to return home to after the PSU vs. UofM game. The sports court and ping pong/pool table were a hit with the boys. Owners were pleasant to work with and were professional and organized with their household instructions and information on the surrounding area. Highly recommend this property for families.

This is a wonderful property especially if you have children! The sports court was a game changer! The kitchen has a professional range and is very nicely equipped for cooking for a large family gathering! The house is very well constructed and was very relaxing. The screened in porch was a wonderful place outside when it was raining! The location was great with easy access to boat launches and the marina! We would definitely book this home again for a Raystown lake vacation.

Great on site entertainment and easy access to Raystown Lake amenities. The kids and adults loved the pool table and sports court. Adults enjoyed the large, open kitchen and fire pit. Bedroom and bathroom layout was ideal for our group of three couples and the bunk room was perfect for the kids. A short drive to the Seven Points recreation area and downtown Huntington, and about 25 minutes to Lake Raystown Resort. Heron’s Cove was a great location for our daily outings. Host was helpful, prompt with communication, and easy to work with. I’m looking for any reason to go back!

We absolutely love this property. Three families with kids ages 11-15 years have been vacationing together for years and this house and property surpassed all our expectations. The home is cozy with plenty of room to spread out. Perfect amount of table room to eat our meals together. All the pots and cookware we needed to make our own meals. Kids loved all sleeping together in one room plus having the basement for ping pong and pool.
The sports court is amazing and kept the kids and adults busy and active for hours. All the sports equipment you need is provided. Short walk to lake. We bought cheap inflatable tubes from the local bait and grocery store and had fun floating in the lake. You can rent a boat from the marina which is about a fifteen minute drive. Great location. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

We had an absolute blast at this home. Everything we needed was there and it was easy to find. We used all of the amenities... sports court, ping pong, pool table, fire pit, decks, BBQ, etc. The place slept our large group comfortably and it was a snap to get to the lake for a swim. It was the first time some of our group visited Raystown and they are already planning a return trip to this house with their families. The owners were very responsive to our questions and had everything ready for us when we arrived. We hope to book again soon!

Our camping crew normally takes our campers for a weekend getaway every April. This year, due to some unforeseen issues, we decided to rent a cabin at Raystown. I did my search and found this beautiful cabin that checked all the boxes I was looking for in a property! The owner, Chris, was flexible and accommodated us to check in early to start our weekend! When it was beautiful weather, we enjoyed the deck, when it was raining, we enjoyed the screened porch which was the highlight of our stay! We sat around the campfire each evening and Chris provided firewood for us! We enjoyed the sports court and was a big hit with our 2 year old little buddy! He loved it!! There were 12 of us and there were plenty of towels and essentials! Our stay was comfortable and enjoyed by all!! Can’t thank the owners enough for answering all my questions and allowing us to stay at their amazing cabin! Highly recommend and we will be back!!

My family and I stayed at Herons Cove for the weekend for my daughter's Admitted Students day at Juniata College. We wanted a house that was both close to the school but also near Raystown lake. This house was perfect! Beautiful house, super clean, lots of amenities. Chris met us at the house to show us around. They definitely take great pride in their house and ensuring their guests have a great stay. Loved the area and will definitely be back since our daughter will be attending school close by. We will definitely rent this house again, will aim for a summer visit next time!

This is one of the best rental homes in the Raystown area. We have stayed here three times, twice since the current owner purchased. Location is easy to access from Hesston, Huntingdon, or Mcconellstown, house is well outfitted, and sports court and fire ring are great additions. On top of all that, you can walk down to the lake. Hard to beat this spot if you are looking for a rental in Huntingdon.

This cabin was perfect in every way! It has something for all ages… outdoor sport court, indoor games, books and toys for the youngest. The cabin is beautiful inside and the decks outside. We enjoyed the fire pit for family time. The kitchen and bedrooms are beautiful clean and fully equipped.

Amazing lodge in the mountains! this property was outstanding. Chris was so helpful. Perfect for our group of four golfers on our little golf holiday. I would enthusiastically recommend this to anyone especially those with kids. There are so many activities (tennis, Pickleball, basketball) right on the property. Outstanding basketball court.

This was our second visit to Heron's Cove. I would give this property 10 stars if possible. I am impressed by the cleanliness, setting, and privacy of the property. It is obvious that the owners gave a lot of thought to make it feel like a home for their guests. (It is especially nice that fresh laundered bedding is included.) There is a large grill and the kitchen has many small appliances, pans, utensils, etc. to make meal prep easy. Our party ranged in age from 5-75 and all had a great time. The kids especially enjoyed the sports court, ping-pong, and videos after a long day at Raystown Lake. With many activities for the kids, the adults had some time to relax. We hope to return next year!

The home is very well laid out and creates different spaces that can be used separately but still allows everyone to feel part of the group. My teens had a great time on the sports court and in the basement. The great room is also wonderful to relax in after a tiring day. We took advantage of the proximity to the allegripis trail (10 min away) with multiple mountain bike rides over 8 miles long. If you mountain bike you owe it to yourself to go. We also spent significant time on Raystown lake (7 points marina 13 min away). Chris was extremely quick to respond to my messages. Everything was well communicated and the home was well stocked so we had no issues at all.

This rental was beautiful and just as listed. I’d have no complaints except when we left we were told the guest book couldn’t be found. I told the owner the two places we placed it before leaving.
A week or so later I got a message saying I’d be charged x dollars for the missing book. Because they couldn’t find it and it cost x for the new one. Rounded to x for inconvenience.
Now I understand it’s unfortunate that it couldn’t be found at this time. However, we didn’t take it and the book could still be there somewhere… I wasn’t asked to replace it or even shown a receipt for how much the old book was. I wasn’t even asked to replace it.
Being told to pay an amount for a notebook that can’t be found was off putting and would make me think twice about booking places. It wasn’t as if something was stolen, like an expensive blender or television. I can guarantee we did not remove the book from the house. He also said my toddler (who’s 1.5) could have taken it or thrown it in the garbage?
So, if you book this place. Maybe getting the damage protection in case they decide something is a damage. Even the vrbo representative agreed with me🤷♀️

This was one of the most fantastic locations we have ever had for a vacation. The kids room was perfect for the four kids 7 and under we had. They also LOVED the Sports Court.
