The only place you can see the beautiful view of the lake is on the 5F breakfast room. As we checked in in the afternoon and were checking out the next morning at 6am before breakfast, we went up at 5pm thinking we could have drinks at the bar. After hearing our 'plight' the staff kindly turned on the AC and lights and allowed us to 'raid' their wine frige (we paid of course) and we had a lovely private party in the evening. There's also an in house massage room (common room with a few foot reflexology and massage beds) so it was a welcomed treat (we paid of course) after a hot day out. Because of our early departure, they also kindly packed us individual breakfast 'baskets' (pink paper bag) with a tonne of individually wrapped treats (waffles, 'croissant' pain au chocolat, muffin, fruits and yoghurt) for our train ride.
The only place you can see the beautiful view of the lake is on the 5F breakfast room. I am sure it's not intentional but the hotel is by the lake by has no view of it because the rooms on floors 1-4 are all blocked by the trees in front of the lake. And probably to no fault of the hotel, or maybe the effect of the late massages, two of us (50% of our party) couldn't fall asleep - even though we were really skilled sleepers.

We loved the location across from the lake, we thought the singing & instrument playing by the local retired people was magical. The staff were extremely helpful organising our driver & tours. Breakfast was wonderful situated on the top floor with views. The property was beautifully decorated with an amazing collection of antiques belonging to the owner. Would highly recommend this property

We loved our stay at this boutique hotel. Walking distance to everywhere and from the time we entered the hotel to when we left we had exceptional service. The staff organised the tickets for us to continue our travels to Yangshuo by boat making everything easy. The breakfast was also delicious with stunning views from the 6th floor.
