The resort right at the Bavaro beachfront.
Some of the staff are truly exceptional as they go above and beyond without the need for a tip - Shout-out to Sasa who makes the eggs at the buffet, Randy at the pool bar, Alishia who tends to the people from the buffet and Graciela, my ambassador. Amazing people. Hope the resort management acknowledge them.
The checkin process was smooth. Warm and kind.
The resort does not serve diluted alcohol. I can confirm with my hangover. The pools, the restaurants, the vibe...everything about this place is amazing.
It is a small gripe but I wish more of the staff knew English. I communicated at 2 restaurants - Caracolas and La Hacienda that it is my wife's birthday and they did not do the celebration for it. I think they did not understand me. My wife was left a bit disappointed but it did not take away from the resort experience.

We had an unforgettable stay here!
The hotel is big and clean. Food was really tasty and various. À la cart restaurants were atmospheric and the food was delicious as well. Staff was nice and super friendly. Animation team did their best to entertain guests. Lots of bars and snack bars worked all night long so there’s no way you could be hungry. The beach was great and water was really warm. We are really happy to choose Occidental Punta Cana!!!
We had one problem in the bathroom during our stay but the staff was really helpful and quick so our problem was solved. We’re grateful for that as well.

The entertainment shows.
We went to this gated property with a big group of my family. The outside of the property was well maintained but the rooms needed improvement. Couches in all our rooms were stained all over, the shower heads had stains and didn’t look properly cleaned, one of us had to change rooms due to roaches and water bugs, the pillows weren’t comfortable. Had to ask for extra pillows and blankets because there was none in neither of our rooms already. The safe was sketchy. The activities were fun but needed more throughout the day. The shows were the best part of this hotel. The entertainment team had great talent. The food was okay and could have been better. Reservations for big parties were a nightmare. The hotel reserves your specialty dining (2 per stay) before arrival without asking your preference and to change it for all my family to be together was a nightmare. Then when we went to the specialty dining there were so many tables available. They kept running out of things at the bars like mint leaves for mojitos or the coco loco drink and wouldn’t restock on the same day. The swim up bar was not clean and all the pools were so hot like the weather. The beach was nice but lots of seaweed even though they cleaned it daily. Lots of locals walked on the beach, selling things so at times it was hard to relax, some were aggressive or forcefully trying to sell you things and would over charge until you bargain with them on prices. The stores on site were way overpriced,$56 dollars for sun tan lotion. Overall me and my family had fun being all together.
