The hostel is centrally located - a few minutes easy walk to Green Lake Park (our favorite area of Kunming). I've stayed several times and continue to return because it is clean, safe, comfortable, and very affordable. At first I hesitated, as I thought hostels are only for young people and one needed to share a dorm room with strangers. While that may be possible here, I always stay in a perfect, private room... and I'm no longer in the category of "youth." It's a perfect place to stay... don't hesitate.
Honestly, everything is perfect. From the restaurant to the front desk staff, to the hilarious elevator music to the birdsong out the window in the morning, this place is genuinely awesome. I'll absolutely be back.

One of the best / coziest hostels I've been to in 70 countries! Absolutely gorgeous - it is bright and colourful with so many common areas outside and indoors to chill in. The cafe seems to have some great food and drinks available too.
We stayed in a private room, and the bed was comfy and the bathroom clean and would have been really comfortable for any number of days! Staff was really sweet and helpful, and we were lucky that they were able to give us an early check-in (good timing)! The location is perfect; close to the lake and the old street by foot, and some great restaurants too!
There are activities in the hostel each day, which we didn't get to partake in but would have loved to, to get a sense of the community vibe. But it seems like it has a nice mix of opportunities to enjoy things on your own, as well as with other travelers.
Can't wait to come back and stay here again!

Excellent hostel with hospitable people and fair restaurant. There is a nice waterfall in the garden. Very good beds with privacy - towel and slippers are provided.
The toilets have no washbasin to wash hands after use. I do not like to touch the doorhandle after other people who were not washing hands after use.
