Absolute top notch experience staying here. From the staff to the walk to the room, and the experience of trying yukata (I think that’s the word) and the private onsen in the room - everything was great. I didn’t choose the dinner because it seemed pricey for me, and it did cause a dent in the entire experience to leave the ryokan to sort out the food. Next time, I’ll make sure I’ll pick up the dinner option (at least). But this was on me. The experience overall at this ryokan was fantastic.

I drove to this place and google maps wasn’t really pointing to the right place. Thankfully I saw another review on booking.com helping with the direction to the ryokan’s entrance, so this is me now suggesting others to do some research on it and not trust the google maps. It’s not complicated but I did have to switch on satellite view. I’m surprised the ryokan staff haven’t addressed this already (my apologies if they have sorted it out). Also, somehow my personal details (contact number, email etc.) were hacked because of some problem with the ryokan’s reservation system. lol. I’m laughing now but I did get pretty convincing messages (yes several times) on WhatsApp asking me to click a link and fill out the form urgently or risk losing the booking. It could have easily fooled me if not for the corporate cyber security training I’ve gone through so many times. It looked dodgy. The ryokan have fixed it now, but I feel obligated to mention it here.

Property not well maintained. Landscape in poor condition. No restaurant on Property.

Beautiful setting and gorgeous baths! The staff were very friendly and attentive. It is up in the mountains about a 40 minute walk to town which makes it feel serene.

The buildings are very old and there is a lot of construction happening around the building. Restaurant was closed when we were there.
