The staff at the Castell Hotel are exceptional - very friendly and extremely helpful and considerate. They are always happy to talk and spend a bit of the day with you and have lots of suggestions for places to go and beaches to visit. When I was there, it was very hot and they even left my air conditioning on after cleaning so that it would be a treat to get into the room after a day on the beach or at ancient sites. I actually asked them to stop because I know it's expensive and a waste of electricity!
I was provided with a very large breakfast every day in my room. This is not normal. Coffee, water, fruit, biscuits, etc are provided complimentary communally outside the rooms but I was given service to my room and included salad, yoghurt and pastries. I was in one of the superior rooms but this is not an advertised service. Maybe I'm just such a wonderful person (or they felt sorry for me being on my own!).
The hotel is located in the heart of Kissamos on the main square. My first night was during a music festival and a band were playing. I could watch the concert from my balcony! Luckily, they were great! I prefer being in the centre rather than on the beach because it feels a bit more genuine rather than just holiday people being around and other than when bands play, quieter!
I noticed that people booked in at all times of the day - 2330h and midnight in two instances - and that there was someone there to receive them. That is a nice touch. No texted instructions and "We'll see you tomorrow".
The rooms are large (even the smaller ones - I've stayed in both), comfortable and very clean. There is no dedicated parking but there is always parking nearby, if need be 220m away. But I have always found a space outside the hotel or just along the street.
I love this hotel and the people who run it! If I'm visiting in this part of Crete, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Honestly nothing. It's a small hotel on the main square so there is no entertainment provided (thank goodness), no communal lounge, dining room, bar or pool but you can tell that from the description! It's just a very nice small hotel run by fantastic people. There is an issue with local youngsters hanging about the square late at night and riding their cars and the inevitable scooters and motorbikes. This can go on till 2am but if you are a night bird like me it gives you something to watch as you drink and read or listen to music on the balcony and the double glazing is really good and does shut out all noise!

what can I say, ideal accomodation. clean, tidy room, in the middle of Kissamos square. Friendly staff, extremely available for any request. Free additional services (laundry, fruit or biscuits in the morning, free water, beach umbrella)

We booked the hotel for a night to be able to visit Balos beach and surroundings. We were greeted by the most welcoming staff with a big smile, with lots of tips on what to do, they even offered us books and toys for our child to take to the beach. Clean rooms, great location, we had a lovely stay.

All of them are really friendly. They helped us a lot with all our needs and with helpful informations. Really value for the stay. They even offers some fruits or buscuits for free. There was some dates too when i was there, best i get so far, i ate four or five of them and they helped me with my full hurting stomach from eating too much food in plakias. A wonderful stay here.

We will forever remember our time spent at Niki's Castell Hotel. We ended up staying a couple extra nights, after travel plans had to drastically change due to cancelled flights. Couldn't have imagined a better place to be in these moments. Niki is a truly fabulous woman! Full of passion, great tips and info. And also, the wonderful space, elegantly decorated, and perfectly situated in Kissamos. Don't think twice, book with Niki! (And pro tip, it may be best to book directly for a win-win for you and the hotel to avoid 3rd party booking fees/commissions ;)). Efharisto Niki !

Owners were very friendly and very helpful with information and things to do and see helping me find the closest bus stations, places of interest and just being happy people đ
Bed was very comfy, Kitchen was well equipped and had salt, pepper, olive oil and more for use (didnât have anything to clean with at first but once my room got cleaned supplies were added)
Bathroom and shower were also good coming with shampoo, soap, toothbrush, a hairdryer and more.
Wifi also works super well compared to other places Iâve stayed at which was nice đ

Superb small hotel - one of our favorites anywhere. Run by two young sisters who are endlessly helpful, warm, friendly and just delightful. Always ready with recommendations on where to eat and what to see. We learned so much about Kissamos and Crete from them. The evening desk clerk, Yannis, is also wonderful. The hotel is modern with attractive comfortable rooms. Great value. Central location near many restaurants. Highly recommend!

Truly amazing, I wish I could give it 100 out of 10! First: location - right in the centre of tiny adorable Kissamos. Lotâs of little cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. Second: the bed. I have no words for how comfortable the bed was here, like sleeping on a little cloud! Third: the people. Everyone who works here is amazing! So friendly, always willing to chat and tell you about the island. And the little cat is a sweetheart too. I would 100% recommend staying at Castell Hotel. I had a wonderful experience. Katerina, Niki and Yaris were so lovely and made me feel at home. They helped out when I had a problem and it was no trouble for them at all! The shelf with the free items is unbelievable,, itâs such a good idea. If you are in kissomos you should definitely stay here, itâs right in the centre square, plus also a few minutes waking to the beach. The place is simply perfect!

We stayed for one week and had a comfortable stay there. The room was clean and we had AC. Everything is within walking distance,shops, restaurants, bakeries, you name it. The crew was great, all smiles, good energy, helpful tips for tourists. I recommend this place and thanks to the crew again!

Wonderful hotel, with wonderful staff! Everyone is amazing, the room was very clean and comfortable! There are plenty of spaces to park near. Niki and Katerina was always ready to give advise on what beach to visit or where to eat. We really recommend this place! If we come back to Crete, we will definitely stay in Castell Hotel again!

The room was spotlessly clean with all the amenities required. The balcony looks right onto the square and is a lovely place to have your morning coffee - one evening we were even lucky enough to listen to a live orchestra and choir. Niki & Katerina could not have been better hosts - they welcomed us with open arms and were always available to answer questions and recommend the best local beaches/taverns/swimming spots.

Very good service. The girls (Niki and Katerina) managing/running this hotel are perfect, they responded to all of our needs and more. We chose to stay here, in order to be closer to Balos (1 hour by boat) and Elafonisi (1 hour by car).
Don't get fooled or scared by the fact this is a 2 star hotel, the rooms are clean, the bathroom smells nice and they clean your room daily, you have everything you need, including a view of the sea and the city centre. During our stay there was also a concert here.
