About this house rental
Located in Lake Sunapee, this lovely house for $580 per night is a great option for your next break. Only available for rent through the official Vrbo website. Please check the calendar on the Vrbo website for availability before contacting owner. Air-conditioned Four Bedroom, two full baths, Pristine Lakefront, child friendly home available for rent for a minimum 7 day stay, for eight or fewer guests. Located less than 50 feet from Lake Sunapee with gradual slope down to a large Dock that features steps to a shallow beach area --- perfect for small children. Parking for two boats, with deep water at the end of the dock and a ladder that provides easy access in & out of the lake. Located in a desirable no-wake zone that is conducive to kayaking and allows for quiet relaxation (no noisy ski boats going by at 7 AM) but quick access to the main lake. House is located on a dead end private road in a desirable neighborhood. Large flat front lawn can be used for soccer, croquet or a simple game of catch. Long driveway provides ample parking for up to four cars. There is a strict no smoking, no pets rule. The Cottage is not available for events. Maximum capacity is eight guests and only guests are permitted on the property. We enjoyed our week-long stay at “the cozy cottage” very much! The house was very clean upon arrival and included everything we needed for our stay (plenty of linens, extra towels, etc.). Our girls (ages 1 and 4) enjoyed the swimming area off the dock. With the property being located in a “no wake” zone it was the perfect swimming spot for young children. We rented a boat for the week while we were there so having the dock was a must! We also enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boards. You could come to the property with just your clothes and bathing suits as the owners have provided everything you could possibly need! This is a beautiful property and it was absolutely perfect for our family getaway!

The Cozy Cottage was exactly what our family needed for our first vacation with our children! Small details truly made this property stand out. The abundant floats and water toys, the lower level room where the adults spent time after bedtime and backup generator (which unfortunately was needed!) helped make our stay memorable. The dock that was deep enough to jump off at the end but featured a shallow area alongside provided the perfect balance for the kids and adults. Thanks Richard!

We spent 2 weeks at the Cozy Cottage. The amenities inside and outside are all you could ask for. The location on the lake is ideal for all activities. The cottage is very clean and well supplied. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to go back soon.

I am hesitant to write this review because I am afraid everyone will want to book this location. If I could give the Cozy Cottage more than 5 stars, I would! The house was incredibly clean and well maintained. The rocking chairs were amazing and there were so many of them. The two decks and screened in area gave everyone ample space to sit, talk, and/or just relax and look at the lake. The sandy area and stairs allowed us all to easily access the lake. Being located on quiet cove, it allowed our family to paddleboard, kayak and swim with ease.
The owners clearly put a lot of thought into what their guests might want or need. We had everything we wanted, and then there were things that we didn’t know we wanted/needed until we saw them. The kitchen was stocked with pots/pans for baking/cooking. There was plenty of bureau and closet space to put clothes. We found the beds very comfortable, too. The WiFi was fast which was great for streaming. The trash pick-up and the central air were huge positives. They supplied kayaks, paddleboards, life vests, innertubes, fishing rods/lures and more. There were ample games for rainy days and so many toys for the lake. We didn’t need to bring anything, except our clothes and a toothbrush!

Exceeded All Expectations!
The Cozy Cottage is a very special place located on Job's Creek along the western edge of Lake Sunapee. It is immediately evident that the owners take great pride and care of their property. They have made every effort to ensure that guests are well cared for and have everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely welcome package containing champagne, local chocolates, and other thoughtful items. The house itself was immaculate, well-equipped, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was outfitted with everything needed to prepare a variety of meals and was complemented with a fantastic new Weber gas grill on the back deck. We took full advantage of the kayaks, paddle boards and other water toys available for use. The design of the house, with its amazing outdoor deck spaces and dock area, allows you take in the beautiful views and affords easy access to the water. Communication with the owners was excellent and prompt from start to finish. We received an extremely helpful and comprehensive information package with details about the house and surrounding area, as well as excellent recommendations for shopping, restaurants, and day trips. We highly recommend the Cozy Cottage and hope to return next year!

Wonderful Memories
The cozy cottage is a great place to stay with your family. The house is well maintained with really cute bedrooms and a comfy main room to hang out in. The huge deck overlooking the lake is really nice for having a relaxing cup of tea or a family dinner. We also had tons of fun jumping off the dock into the water. Lastly the hosts very graciously let you use their kayaks and paddle boards to explore the area. We loved staying here!

Great place to stay!
We had a great time on the lake. The no wake zone made kayaking fun and the shallow area was great for our 6 year old. Rocking on the porch every evening where it was shaded and cool. We also had a few clear nights to star gaze.

Serenity
This house was a perfect fit for a 3-generation family of 6 adults and 1 child. The kayaks, paddle board and various rafts & floats were especially appreciated. The location in a no-wake cove off the main lake was ideal for safe boating and swimming. We saw loons, turtles, muskrats and even a mink right on the dock a few times! The deck and screened in porch were perfect for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. The family room on the walk-out level was ideal for games and crafts on rainy days. We needed a replacement light bulb during our stay, and this was taken care of within hours.

A very 2020 vacation
This location on Sunapee is nothing short of perfect. The water is crystal clear and just the right temp. The no wake zone allowed our family to really enjoy the kayaks and paddle board worry free. The daily loon visits were a delight.
All of that being said, it's 2020 after all, so we didn't get to use the water for a few days due to some freak electrical current that was detected. This is no fault of the lakehouse or owner...just a freak thing. The owner was extremely easy to reach and communicate with which was very much appreciated. The house itself is indeed cozy...as described. The living room furniture is in desperate need of updating but we found no other issues with the house. Overall we enjoyed our stay immensely due to the spectacular location and included boats. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Family Vacation
Our multi-generation family enjoyed our week at the Cozy Cottage. The location is pure serenity and very quiet for being water front. Loon watching, boating, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding filled our days. The home is clean and well maintained. We hope to go back someday.

Quintessential lake experience
Our second year at The Cozy Cottage was even better than the first. Jobs Creek location is perfect for kids and novice kayaking. If you want a kayak/paddle board challenge, the open lake awaits you. Loon and duck visits daily. Lake Sunapee is ultra-clean. Again, this year, we enjoyed visiting the New London Hospital Days fair on the town common, The League of NH Craftsmen’s Fair and a ride around the lake on the MV Mt. Sunapee II with the kids the first week. Still many things in the area to do that are kid-friendly that we have not tried. “Adulting” with no kids week two consisted of a great lunch at Peter Christians, floating on a tube tethered to the dock plus daily kayak paddles up and down Jobs Creek in search of loons. One rainy/cloudy day which brought us to a movie matinee and early dinner at The Common Man in Claremont. Location and cottage cannot be beat. Everything you need is there. Richard and maintenance crew are responsive and very friendly. I hesitate to say much more as we want to return for year three and would like the same two weeks!!!
