The property building was great, but our condo was sub par. The kitchen and bathrooms were filthy upon check in. Dishes in the cabinets and silverware in the drawers were dirty, they still had food on them. There were stains on the couch, dining room chairs and some of the bedding. We would stay again in Indian Shores, but not this condo.

Unit 1109 is very dirty and dated. I would not recommend it to anyone. The owner has neglected the interior and it's very dusty, old, and filled with bugs. (Nats). The furnace filter hasn't been changed in nearly a year. The blinds are falling apart. The sofas are old and need to be pitched. The patio deck is filthy and needs powerwashing - it has 40 years of dirty built up. The grout throughout the condo has turned into black mold. Too many issues to list. The property management company may come on here and say they've addressed these issues later, but I assure you they are only relaying the feedback to the owner and the owner is not addressing them. All the prior negative reviews that discuss these same issues are accurate and NOTHING has been repaired or fixed. The bottom line is you should not rent this unit. The views are nice, but everything else inside is very bad. The owner can't even spend $1000 to update the paint, which looks to be the original stuff from the mid 80s. Kitchen counters are original from the 80s and have permanent stains. I actually heard from other people in the building the owner of this unit is a contractor in Chicago...I would be afraid to use his business if this is his idea of a vacation home.

After reading other reviews I was skeptical. We were pleasantly surprised when arriving! The place was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. Sunsets from the beach were awesome and the pool was not crowded. The only suggestion I would have is to add additional cooking and baking pans, the condo holds 8, but the options were limited.

Perfect location w/ beautiful view! Kitchen items need to be reviewed and cabinets purged of random plastic, containers, and lids. Cutlery needs to be replaced. We were very short of utensils. Other than that, nice place that could use some updates. Would rent again.

The unit was in a great location with beautiful views of the ocean.Lots of great restaurants nearby. The only issue I would like to see addressed is an over-all updating of furniture, flooring, and kitchen cooking supplies. The sofas and some of the beds were quite uncomfortable and the carpeting needs replacing. I would definitely recommend this building, but possibly look for a unit that had been updated.

We had a wonderful family vacation. The condo was in a great location. We loved the condo but it does need some updates. Our suggestions to the owners are:
Need blackout curtains in the two front bedrooms instead of the blinds since some of the blinds were broken at the bottom and you can see inside the room from outside. Need a new sofa/loveseat as they are worn out and sit to low to the ground especially for the elders. Also need taller toilets to make it easier to get off.
The vanity in the master bathroom needs to be repaired because the bottom is about to fall out. The view from the balcony was beautiful Over all we enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Great location
We had a wonderful family vacation. The condo was in a great location. We loved the condo but it does need some updates. Our suggestions to the owners are:

We had a great stay overall. The place itself needs updating and deep cleaned. Everything is outdated including the pots and pans. The skillets need to be tossed. Loved the balcony and the view from it. This place is not a five star resort but if you are on a budget it will do.

We love this rental and have grown our time there from 4 weeks to 6 this year, and to 10 weeks next year. We find the condo comfortable, if not luxurious, and the community of renters and owners warm and welcoming. It's our winter "home away from home".

My family has stayed at the Beach Cottage Condos for over 10 years. The 1109 condo that we have used the last few years fits our needs perfectly. Clean and. comfortable. It is decorated very nicely but doesn't make you feel uncomfortably when housing little people. Great ocean view. Everything easily accessible. Will be back again.

You cannot beat the views and location of this property. However, the owners need to invest in all new beds, new furniture, new kitchen, new bathrooms for the amount of money you pay per week. The Beach Cottages building is kept in superb condition. Very clean. I would probably try a different unit next time as this unit is in major need of updating.

We have stayed and Beach Cottages several times before in a number of units in Beach Cottages and this is the first unit that really is disappointing - a 2-star accommodation at a 5-star price. The unit is well-placed, beautiful view, great for sunbathing. The finishes in the unit are original to the building and sadly in need of updating (tiles, cracking and chipped, doors don't close) and a thorough cleaning (more than the turnaround cleaning in needed e.g. the balcony floor needs to be power washed)) The Master bath has been updated but please replace the rusting soap tower in the shower. The master bedroom needs a new mattress. The bathtub in the second bath is rusting around the drain. We don't expect upscale kitchen & dinner equipment, but the meal equipment is mismatched (e.g. 4 different patterns of flea market silverware), not enough small plates (especially if you rent to 8 people). We have stayed in efficiency motels that are better equipped. Furniture - relatively new sofa and loveseat - dining room chairs & footstool recovered by owner (cheap and not well done). There is a compact stereo that fails to pick up any station without static. Finally my wife washed a beige cover and we found out it was really pink. This owner is bringing down the quality of all the other units in BC by their neglect.

Another GREAT month at this mostly wheelchair accessible condo (1400+ sf) (Exception is narrow MBth doorway where walker is required to enter) New MBth walk in shower with shower curtain accommodates transfer seat nicely. Low toilet requires own riser and portable grab bars. Appreciated new living room furniture. Same great unobstructed gulf view, electronics in good working order, Sun Coast Trolley tranport outside door, exceptional rec area(also w/c access.)with new salt water pool where 89 degree water made swimming comfy even in cooler temps,and lovely flat packed beach we could bike. Friendly condo community. Management very responsive to all requests.

My husband and I had stayed here with his sisters last March. We decided to have our family vacation in October and knew this condo would be perfect for the 4 of us. We loved the balcony to eat breakfast and enjoy beautiful sunsets. Weather is perfect in October! The condo is clean and beds were comfortable.We only had a problem with the shower curtain rod kept falling down but management came immediately to fix it. This place is a gem. We'll definitely return.
