名前通り、登山目的の宿泊者がほとんどで情報交換できる。食事内容が初日は魚づくし、2日目が肉づくし。もう少しバランスよくしてほしかった。トビウオの唐揚げは良かった。
施設全体が古く、リノベーションをする時期。畳も交換時期。

The location is quite convenient (if you have a car), the place is quiet. One side opens to the mountains and one side opens to the ocean. For Yakushima levels the price is cheap too. The staff were very friendly! The nearby village has many tasty restaurants and a big supermarket.
There is a Japanese style bath, but i was only operating on one of the days of my stay. Later I was told it was because thet didn't have so many guests and did not want to waste water. I understand that, but I would have waned the staff to tell me that upon check in. One time we cut short a hike to get back in time for the bath, to find it empty...
Also another reduction for the bunk beds. They are too short and the mattress was very hard and overused. being tired from a hike knocks you out at night, but I did not get much quality sleep.

The staff at Maedakeso was incredibly nice. They gave us valuable advice on what to visit in yakushima and the best way to hike in the island. I am so grateful that we stayed there! The owner even offered to drive us to nearby restaurants during our stay.
The rooms are japanese style with tatami and futons.
