Short notice availability and booking discounts. HEATED Private Pool is now open. OCEANFRONT beach home which is owner managed. Heated pool re-opened in early March. The beach starnd and dunes in our immediate area are in the best condition in at least the 25 years I have owned homes in this neighborhood.
Pelican Watch is a lovely 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, plus outside shower, which is oceanfront on the East End of Holden Beach. Our private heated pool is open from early March until late November. The beach strand is frequently renourished and is broad and in great shape. The house is very tall and sits behind two rows of dunes and a limited use one-way street. Take a short walk to stairs over our protective dunes to access the uncrowded beach strand.
Holden Beach, and especially the "East End" is much less densely developed than many Carolina beaches.
Pelican Watch is very tall with great sweeping views over the dunes, beach strand and the Atlantic. Three of the 4 bedrooms as well as the living room are oceanfront with plenty of glass. The ELEVATOR goes from the ground / parking level to the top floor, without a stop at the lower living level. The top floor (served by elevator) included: living room; dining; kitchen; elevated sitting area with access to a back deck; oceanfront porch; one Oceanfront queen suite, and a half bath off common areas. The lower living level (no elevator stop) has: Oceanfront suite with king bed; oceanfront bedroom with queen bed which shares a bath with back bedroom with a full-size bed and roll out single trundle.
Private heated pool has lounge chairs. We have a collection (varies) of beach chairs, pool floats, boogie boards,
Our kitchen is much better stocked than the typical beach rental. My wife and I designed Pelican Watch and it's our third (now only one) home on the East End. We are actively involved in the entire operation and are supported by longtime local cleaning and maintenance professionals.

Where do I even start? From the moment we booked, the host was outstanding — proactive, responsive, and communicative every step of the way. You never had to wonder about anything because they were always a step ahead.The property itself? Best we’ve ever stayed in. Immaculate, well-appointed, and everything you’d want for a beach getaway. The only “problem” we had all week was deciding whether to spend the afternoon at the pool or walk down to the beach — and honestly, that’s a great problem to have.Holden Beach is a hidden gem. Quiet, unhurried, and wonderfully family-friendly — the kind of place that feels frozen in time in the best possible way. No noise, no chaos, just good people and a beautiful stretch of coast.And the view from the property… the ocean right there, the sound of the waves rolling in — it was exactly what we needed. Total reset. Doctor’s orders fulfilled.We will absolutely be back. Highest possible recommendation.Brian

This is a great place and Irv is an excellent host. You cannot beat the location and the home is wonderful. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will be back!!

Lovely and comfortable Oceanfront Home! The late April weather was perfect to allow fresh breezes in, but we spent much time enjoying the upper outside deck and the pool along with the ocean. Irv is a wonderful person that makes sure that you have everything you need. Best communication I have had with an owner/manager in over 20 trips to Holden. Beds were support and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. Immaculately clean. The Woods' are also very generous providing access to the storage underneath - with a wealth of toys for sand and pool, chairs, pool umbrella. You can tell this is a personal home, well cared for, and we consider ourselves a very fortunate benefactor of their generosity. Thank you so much for providing the perfect short break we needed!!
