About this house rental
Located in Holden Beach, this charming house for $650 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. 2024 booking fast! Limited summer availability. June 22-25 and August 11-26th openings (will accept 3 or 4 night stay beginning or ending on Sundays in August). Fall openings from September 2-October 22nd. New EV NEMA 14/50 electric vehicle plug (bring your own charger). No fee$$ for charging your EV. Great oceanfront private home, owner designed and managed, with wonderful oceanfront beach views and beach strand. March 2024 brought more sand on our beach from a beach renourishment project. Short walk from house to stairs over the protective dunes to nice broad beach strand. Supplemental pool heat with new heater (March '24), (if needed for modest fee) private pool. Heated pool opened in March until November. Over 80% of my renters are repeats, many multiple years. Send inquiries for 2024, for the very few weeks which aren't rebooked by multi-year repeats. Digital Nomads welcome through part of the fall/winter/spring. We have high-speed fiber-based internet which can support "work-from-anywhere" and remote learning. It's nice when you take a break or end your work /school day to take a walk on broad beach which you are sharing with only a handful of others. Beach is open, beach strand is in GREAT shape following a major beach renourishment completed in March 2024. Re : Pool, Solar blanket and southern exposure (w/new pool heater optional possible very reasonable /surcharge applies) will warm the private pool. Take a short walk over (stairs over) dunes to broad beach. Pelican Watch is named in honor of the brown pelicans who fly by on the updrafts from ocean winds off the dune-ridge along the beach. ELEVATOR serves top floor which is main living level and one oceanfront bedroom suite. Elevator does NOT stop at lower living level which has 3 bedrooms. House has 4 bedrooms, 3 facing oceanfront, 3.5 baths inside, & enclosed outside shower w/ hot/cold H2O. Glass-paneled back deck off small sitting area on main living area offers privacy/protection from ocean breezes and nice views of Lockwood Folly Inlet. Our house is on the lightly developed "East End" of Holden Beach.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Holden Beach. The house was comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Any questions we had were promptly answered by the property owner. The pool was a big plus and used by all! The beach was a brief walk away. Our stay was all we hoped for.

Mr Woods was great in keeping us up to date before our stay and also checking in with us during our stay when a storm was approaching. The home fit our family wonderfully, giving everyone their own space. Having a pool to cool off in after a long, hot day at the beach was GREAT. Sadly I did not pay close enough attention to the fact that there were so many steps to the beach access (my fault) Other than my hip "talking to me" each night, it was a perfect trip. Thank you Mr Woods for opening your lovely home to me and my family.

Communication was excellent from the time we booked and throughout our stay. It was a perfect location. We loved being able to step out at night to enjoy sunset on the beach. The house had everything we needed. My girls loved playing games in the extra loft area by the kitchen. We had forgotten one of the beach and pool toys for our youngest, but Irv had something perfect available for him to use!

Grandmother, Mother and Grandaughter escaped for a delightful 3 day weekend over Mother's Day. Perfect interlude in a very busy end of school year. Would definitely recomment Holden Beach for a peaceful, pleasant vacation. Owner of property was very easy to communicate with.

I hesitate to say how amazing this property is!! Access to the beach is so close! We have a 2 year old and 4 year old so quick access back to the house for naps or lunch was a must! The pool was fantastic for beach breaks and Irv was one of the best owners we’ve ever interacted with. Kept us informed throughout with possible storms, tips for the area and there was plenty of beach toys and chairs - so much so that we won’t pack any of our own next time. Will definitely look to return!

Pelican Watch was the perfect getaway from all the craziness that is going on in the world right now. The entire week was stress-free! This was all thanks to the beautiful ocean views from the home (and only about a 60 second walk to the beach!) as well as the relaxing private pool. The owner was also great at communication and the home was very well organized and had everything we needed. The whole family left feeling so refreshed! We would love to come back and spend another week here next year! We highly recommend Pelican Watch to anyone wanting to have an amazing relaxing vacation in Holden Beach!

Wonderful family getaway
We had a lovely time. It was peaceful and perfect. We were steps from the beach and in a very quiet part of the island. The private pool was a wonderful way to cool off and wind down from the beach. The regular flying over of pelicans was a treat! Never seen that! It was a trip we will always remember as a family.

Mr. Woods was great to work with and very quick to respond to any questions we had. Great location with quick access to the bridge to go back to the mainland when needed. The house is in a great location with easy access to public access over the dunes to the beach. We will be back in the future.

Wonderful Holden Beach Property
We loved our time at Holden Beach. This was our first time on the east end, and it proved to be relaxing and the best shell-hunting spot we’ve had after 12+ annual visits to the island. The house is comfortable and Irv was a very communicative host. He was very responsive to an issue we had on the first day and we were able to resolve it very quickly. Thanks!

We truly had a wonderful time on our first family vacation in 8 years. The location was perfect. Close to the beach and the pool was perfect. Having a place with an elevator made it super easy for grandma who struggles with steps. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The owner was so nice and answered any questions we had. Amazing Vacation!
Pelican Watch is fabulous! It is beautiful, clean, has a fantastic pool, a well-stocked kitchen, and is in a convenient peaceful location. The views from each deck are breathtaking. Do not forget about the back deck-the sunsets are amazing! We had such a great stay not only because of the beautiful beach and house but also because of Irv. He met us upon arrival and showed us around the house and how to take care of the pool-such a nice guy! He was ready and willing to assist with anything that came up during our stay and a very gracious host. Absolutely nothing came up or went wrong during our 10 day stay though! We will definitely vacation with Irv at Pelican Watch again.
