Worst place I have ever stayed at.

Nothing

If you like the smell of mildew and a mattress thin as toilet paper on the floor, this place is for you. We asked the staff for an extra futon and were told they didn’t have extra because all the rooms were booked but the place wasn’t even half booked. The onsen ceiling was covered in mold and our room had big spider webs in the corners. Their brochure photos are about 30 years old and I don’t think the place has looked that good since. We had to check out a day early due to the smell.

Highly recommend; just don't judge by first impression

The service here was excellent. The property manager was very accommodating to our needs and took great care of us. I liked the traditional tatami rooms, which are quite spacious for Japan. The tatami were in very good repair--the age of the hotel had us worried about the two asthmatics in our group, but they had no issues. Several of us also took advantage of the onsen, which was spacious and clean. We enjoyed watching the deer that live on the property. We could often see them from the communal space downstairs, which we used regularly because we were a group of nine and there were no other guests. This is an excellent stay if you're looking for a budget accommodation in a quiet area steps from the lake!

First impressions were not great. The place is older and the exterior facilities are neglected--grass is overgrown, outdoor equipment is rundown, and there are literal trees growing up in the tennis courts. The decor is a half century out of date (though they have made updates such as toilets in the rooms we were in, LED lights, etc). Half of my group were convinced the place was haunted. The cleanliness of the rooms left something to be desired--stains on the chairs, toothpaste marks beside the sink (the actual toilet/tub area was very clean though--there is a separate sink in the room). It was livable though; we just stuck to the tatamis and only used the carpeted space for our luggage. Also good to know if you're traveling the area but do not speak Japanese--the property manager did not speak much if any English; my mom is a native speaker and handled all of the communication for us.

It was a perfect place within our budget and we enjoyed our stay and the location!

The location was great! I was traveling to hike mount fuji and this location was close enough by taxi to get to the parking lot of the hike. I also appreciated how close it was to the convenience store and the lake.

It was a bit easy to miss if one was not paying attention. The sign to the hotel was very small and a bit hidden.

住宿地點離山中湖很近，步行3分鐘可到便利商店，位置佳。順便一提，步行2分鐘可到達警察局，不用擔心治安問題：D 相比東京住宿空間可以說是非常充足即使是在夏天的午後也不用開空調，窗戶打開就很涼爽。

房間有許多膠帶黏貼補丁，包括牆面、天花板的崁燈及榻榻米，感受到老旅館在品質及價格間平衡。
