We booked a longish 16 nights stay at this hotel, several months before, as we wanted to stay at a location that was reasonably central to Amsterdam at a budget that suited us. It so turned out that the location was excellent, and our room was very comfortable.
Room housekeeping was provided each day, and the buffet breakfasts provided are quite straightward, yet more than adequate to prepare you for a full day of travelling. We paid for several of these breakfasts during our stay (more than half of our stay).
The room had air conditioning, which was excellent and a godsend during our hot summer period in Amsterdam too!
While the room generally looked pretty clean when we checked in, I did feel that it could've been cleaned a little more thoroughly. After walking around the room in clean white socks, they did reveal some dirt after walking around the room for a short while, implying that the floors (which were darkly coloured and hence, difficult to see dirt) weren't cleaned as thoroughly as we originally thought.
In the bathroom, the slope of the floor that leads shower water to the drain seemed to be off and caused water to spill out into the main floor area of the bathroom, not helped by inadequate shower screen coverage. This seems to be a wider trend across other Dutch hotels (well, only from one other we stayed at on this trip, which suffered the exact same issue), so this is something to bear in mind if/when the bathrooms get renovated.
Last, our refrigerator didn't work. I wasn't sure if the refrigerator was meant to be an inclusion of our room, but it was not a huge deal and we never mentioned it to the hotel staff. But something for the staff to bear in mind once they see this review.

Place was ok, very close to a tram station. Lots of small shops and even a pharmacy nearby.
It could use a bit more cleaning, but overall still ok.

The late check-in option was convenient and easy to arrange.
The accommodation was very basic considering the price. I could hear mice moving in the ceiling during the night, which was quite disturbing. In addition, the shower drain was clogged, causing water to drain very slowly. Overall, the experience did not justify the cost.
