everything was great, good onset, good location. Only problem is the doors get locked between 10pm-6am so you cannot leave to go and see sunrise. 10pm close is ok because it's very quiet in the evenings anyway.
Need to change the doors being locked until 6am.

Quiet and very near the lake , for walks, and a major shrine.. Took a little searching but discovered many great small real Japanese locals restaurants in the neighborhood, less than 15 minutes walk. On site onsen and very accommodating elderly hosts. Even manged to communicate with our very limited Japanese and their limited English, better than my Japanese. Very helpful to have a translator phone app in Japan. Great personal small ryokan. We extended by a couple days and may be back for another stay soon.
A bit isolated from the main downtown but everything else makes up for it , including the free shuttle to the bus/train station.

The location is very near the river, and the view is amazing. Very traditional, old-school furniture and vibes. Went in November, the weather is nice if you like sub-zero temperatures.
It's very far from the nearest town, need to walk for 40mins. Bus that goes to that area from Fuji Shinkasen is 2.5 hours. No shower in the room, only toilet bowl and sink. Water is freezing because no hot water in the room. Need to pay 150 Japanese Yen for shower and onsen daily. No breakfast or dinner even though it is a Ryoukan. Need to be back before 10 p.m., else cannot go in. Bed was too soft. Owner also speaks Japanese, not English friendly.
