Unexpectedly nice stay

The buffet was great. Whilst base buffet is more than enough and amazing value, consider extra for the seafood Onsen is nice with a small outdoors area Play room with a large selection of board games to liven your evening (the area is a tad quiet)

Hotel was a little hard to find if you don’t read Japanese signs

Natural onsen hotel in the nature with halfboard included

Beautiful spacious onsen with natural water and stunning views of nature (right at the seacoast), spacious clean rooms and delicious buffet with lots of options

No options for sightseeing around except for nature, but if you come with a car then you’ll have more options

Despite some grievances, it's still good value for the price.

Most of the dishes in the buffet were delicious. The indoor onsen had a nice view but you had to stand up to see the view from the outdoor onsen. The location wasn't as nice as Ryugu but it was in a fairly nice location in Kami-Amakusa.

The room was too hot at night and their blankets were way too thick for late March. The air conditioner was locked to heating and ventilation mode, so cooling the room wasn't an option, but it was a little too chilly to sleep without any blankets at all. They should provide thinner blankets during the transition period between seasons. Also, they asked us to hand over the room key whenever we temporarily leave the hotel, so we handed it over when we went for a walk. The reception was closed when we got back and we had to wait close to 2 hours before we could get back into our room. The staff didn't mention the period when the reception would be closed and nothing was mentioned on the check-in information sheet. It's completely understandable for the receptionists to have a break, but it would've been nice to have better communication.

Gorgeous view from both room and onsen

We had a lovely stay at this onsen property. The view from our room was incredible and we could have stayed looking out the window for hours. Beautiful onsen faculty. We appreciated the game room where we could play ping pong with the kids and borrow board games and manga for our room. The food was fresh and plentiful. Cute yukata too!
