Great breakfast and good location. Staff were lovely in all departments.
The property is generally tired and in need of renovation. This was across the board from the rooms, Spa and pools.

Hotel staff were exceptionally nice, helpful, and attentive – 5 stars for them! Food was amazing. We were really happy with both breakfast and dinner options. There were different types of eggs, and even quark-type cheese, which we loved as it’s also a traditional option in Poland where we’re from. They also had options to suit British tastes, like a full English breakfast (beans, bacon, etc.). Dinner buffets were excellent – lots of variety, very tasty, and full of flavour. Freshly made juices were a nice touch. Some desserts were great, especially those kept in the fridge. cakes on a table were pretty dry. The pistachio cake on our first day was absolutely delicious (we were really hoping to see it again later, but unfortunately it didn’t return). The lemon cheesecake was also amazing. There was quite a bit of repetition in desserts, but dinner dishes changed daily. Overall, 5 stars for food! Cleanliness: The hotel and restaurant were very clean. Tables were spotless and tablecloths changed after each guest. We received a complimentary bottle of wine, which was a nice surprise. Robes, slippers, and spa towels were provided free of charge. The room had a small fridge, kettle, and hairdryer, plus plenty of storage space. There’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel – only €2.50 to the Old Town. Upon arrival, we were given a city map and lots of helpful information.
We had booked a room with a sea view, but it was completely blocked by tall trees. The only view we had was of the road, trees, and distant hills. The air conditioning didn’t work. During the day, we could open the balcony, but at night it was too noisy outside – lots of motorbikes and cars hitting loose drain covers, which made a loud banging sound. Even with earplugs, we struggled to sleep for the first four nights. We reported it, and although the engineer checked, it wasn’t fixed. Later we were told that the system had been switched to heating for the whole hotel, so air conditioning couldn’t be turned on in just one room. It was a strange explanation, but the staff were very apologetic. We received a fruit basket, an apology letter, and were offered free drinks (we don’t drink alcohol, so we declined). They also gave us a fan, which helped a lot – we finally managed to sleep for the last three nights. The mattress was too hard and pillows too big and high, so we woke up quite achy every morning. I had to use my jumper as a pillow instead but it wasn't the most comfortable solution. The spa was disappointing. The jacuzzi water had an unpleasant smell, and on the second day we noticed mould on the plastic drain cover around it. We left immediately and didn’t use it again. It was disappointing because we had specifically booked a spa hotel. The indoor pool was small with no water jets or features. The outdoor pool area was also small, with only about 10 sunbeds, and it stayed in the shade all day. The balcony felt enclosed – covered on both sides and above, so it didn’t feel like an open space. It was fully shaded and not very inviting to sit on. Housekeeping cleaned the mugs in the bathroom, but coffee stains were not properly removed. It would be better to replace them with fresh mugs. There was no iron in the room. The TV had mostly Croatian channels and only a few English news channels so nothing to watch.
