We asked to leave our luggage while walking around and the stuff was happy to assist. They were very polite. The onsen was very good. It’s available 23/7, between 00:00 - 01:00 am is the cleaning time. The TV in the room was showing the video surveillance from he town with nice music of chirping birds - nice background for sleeping. We had authentic experience sleeping on futons, bare in mind it’s a hard floor. We had in the room backscratcher!
The riyokan is a bit old, but this was not much big of a deal and we had a very pleasant stay. Our room was facing a wall but it was decorated with plastic bamboos which was the tiny detail I appreciated, anyway I was there for the mountains and the lake which was across the street and definitely didn’t care where my window was facing because I used the room only for sleeping. The only thing I didn’t like is when I had opened the wardrobe it was a bit smelly of old not fresh air. Just to clarify everything was washed and smelled good from the detergent, only the wardrobe had sketchy smell.

This is perfectly situated by the Lake and is very, very traditional. So it really is an authentic experience especially if you then have dinner and breakfast there. The shuttle bus to the station is helpful and free. The onsen is included in the price and it seems very normal to wander around the hotel in the dressing gown and sandals provided (even to dinner).
It is very expensive for what it is - especially the meals although it’s the experience as much as the food that you’re enjoying. It’s the wrong side of the Lake to see Mt Fuji from the hotel but it’s a 15 minute walk round to the other side. It is slightly dated and the futons are very basic - it’s a hard floor!

It was a great traditional ryokan! The building is outdated, but it gives it a charm.
We ended up not getting the shuttle because we didn't get an answer from the hotel.
