I’d definitely go back.

Awesome location, nice access to the beach to a not so crowded area. Clean and aesthetic.

Breakfast can be improved. Food is good but not it’s presentation, also there can be a bit more variety.

A great inexpensive place located on the beach.

Only had breakfast once because we left early for the beach and the shops on Main Street. But the one breakfast was good.

Really nice and comfortable and good location

The location right at the beach. It has a nice luxurious touch to it everywhere. Interior and exterior. Good surfing just outside. Really nice breakfast. Scrambled eggs, fruit, toast, juice.

Hostel on the Beach

Walking distance to everything you would probably want.

Although I read the review prior to booking, this hostel can be a bit noisy as there is a restautant connected that starts playing music about 11:30am to about 10:30pm, but I already expected this & I got through it just fine. If you need or like peace & quiet, this is not the place for you. Overall I had a good experience as I wanted to be on the beach and I was. Great if they can keep the outside shower working so you don't track as much sand into your room.

Staff is great energy and makes the stay even nicer!

Super friendly and helpful staff, clean space, clean beds, bright and spacious room with a beautiful view

It would be nice if there were a lock on the entrance door to the room. There is security which keeps an eye out all night.

Had such a great time there! The best hostel I've stayed in Costa Rica. The room was cleaned everyday, the staff was super friendly and helped me figure my way to Nicaragua. I would watch the sunset at the beach everyday, such a treat!

Rooms are in the middle of common areas , next to the kitchen , breakfast room etc , people can't rest , all the noise and voices from the people around stay in the rooms

Best Hostel in Tamarindo

Very friendly and helpful staff, perfect quiet location close to the beach, delicious breakfast, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, cosy common areas , lovely balcony with rocking chairs. One of the best hostels I ever stayed at. Thank you very much Casa Aura team :)

Nice location but loud

Good location

Too loud, i could hear everyone’s conversations outside of the room. The room was right next to the common area so I was woken up constantly. Also there is no window in the room. Dark.

The Hostel itself is located close to the Beach and in walkable distance for everything you need in Tamarindo. The staff is really friendly and helped us with our issues - even in the middle of the night which was very nice. Breakfast is fine as well. Fruits, coffee - everything alright.

We had a room without window that was very close to the hostel kitchen. It’s was very loud in the night which doesn’t mean that there were people loud, but the walls are that thin, that you can hear nearly everything around (behind, above, in front). Another issue was, that we recognized a weird smell after arriving in the room. In the end we realized that this must be repellent against bugs and cockroaches. We didn’t see them, but the smell seemed like not to be healthy (we got headache) - even more because my girlfriend is pregnant. So we changed the room, which was easy and the staff assisted us. The rooms in the upper floors, are spacious but unfortunately next to the street, which was loud also. Additionally we could hear a loud and mind killing sound “Klack Klack Klack” probably caused by the ventilator in the room next to us. The ac in the room didn’t work well. In total we left after one of three days. We got a refund for one night, what was a compromise. Right as we left, the girls next door told us that they are self-isolated due COVID, which was another reason to leave.

Stayed here before, will stay again

Love the location, cleanliness and the common area.

In general it was a positive experience again at Casa Aura. Staff is really helpful and friendly. It would be nice to have some shelves and/or coat hangers for your clothes and personal belongings in the room (I stayed twice in the same room - quadruple room) I hope to see those when I visit again in the future.
