Concierge very helpful
Very good room - large and comfortable
Receptionist poor and not welcoming. When asked for an early access to our room she just told me the hotel policy. When I went back 5 minutes later she gave us early access as requested but couldn’t explain what had changed. Poor first impression

the parklane apartment rooms are away from the main building and are on 2 storeys, very nice old time colonial chic rooms. it is about 3 mins walk to the main building with the restaurants, the breakfast room and reception.
nice heritage hotel with lots of charm. great staff and quiet location.
took a bit long for warm water in the shower (2 plus minutes) to start running.
public transport is quite a bit far away walking (nearest is far east center)
