About this apartment rental

La Macchia is a welcoming agriturismo beautifully positioned on a hilltop with sweeping views across the idyllic Valdera landscape. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, the estate produces its own olive oil and wine and offers six comfortable holiday apartments, five located in the main building and one in a separate annex. Each apartment has its own outdoor dining area, ideal for relaxed meals in the open air. The property is very well maintained and particularly family friendly, with dedicated play areas for children and a generous 15-metre shared  pool. A shallow section running along the length of the pool makes it suitable for younger guests. The team at La Macchia are always happy to welcome guests and offer tastings of the agriturismo’s olive oil, wines and seasonal vegetables.

Just three kilometres away lies the charming village of Fabbrica, with a bar, a pizzeria that mainly offers takeaway with some outdoor seating during the summer months, a small grocery shop and a pharmacy. The beautiful hill town of Peccioli is only ten minutes away and has received several awards for the imaginative and successful way it combines its medieval architecture with contemporary art installations throughout the town. The historic town of Volterra, renowned for its Etruscan heritage and alabaster craftsmanship, is around 20 kilometres away, as is Casciana Terme, well known for its thermal springs. Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano and the coastal city of Livorno can all be easily reached for enjoyable day trips, while Florence is approximately 88 kilometres away.
