From the reviews I knew that this place was not a 10/10. Still, I highly recommend staying at Yoshikawa guesthouse as it provides you the most authentic Japan experience. The owner is super nice. You will definitely remember it! I personally loved the „Dirk-Nowitzky-Memorial-toilet“ - when you see it you understand what I mean by that. :-) Great value too. Go for it!

The traditional Japanese breakfast was the most amazing thing we had during our time in Japan! Fresh salted salmon with all the trimmings and the most complex miso soup of our trip. Order it every day!
There is literally nothing to criticize here. This is an izakaya, not a hotel for tourists who are used to being pampered, so expectations should be set accordingly; this is the traditional Japanese way of traveling... affordable, and you get to know the locals, especially the owners, who are AMAZING.

The accommodation was spacious.
4 things. 1. The space didn't feel like private. The only lock the property had was on the external door, which is shared with the owner obviously but there is nothing else. I guess that some people don't mind while some would do. 2. The kettle was not working and I couldn't drink hot tea while staying there. 3. The toilet was so tiny and old while it worked. 4. There were no curtains in one of the bedrooms, and neighbours can see in when the light was on at night.
