The staff were welcoming and friendly. The building is beautifully decorated and the interior ambiance outside the room is lovely and peaceful. The breakfast food and service was excellent.
We had been traveling from northern Morocco for a few weeks by car, so I compared Kasbah Flilou to places of equal cost where we had already stayed. The lodging is hard to find, down a narrow alley and up a steep gravel, rocky road currently under light construction. Parking on the road is tight. The walk up to the building is via a very steep driveway or a dirt path. The greeting was very friendly but confusing, with 3 young men all entering separately and greeting us, getting our passport, and immediately inquiring about interest in potential hiking guide services. We were told dinner was at 8, but no menu or price was given ( we decided against dinner due to late start time and price, which we ultimately learned was 250 dirham/ pp). The room itself was the most disappointing: cramped and unpleasant--very small ( less than a meter of space to walk around the queen bed) and dark, with a tiny window facing a close cinder block concrete wall. The mattress was comfortable, but the bottom sheet was worn, pilled and scratchy, and the pillow was a brick, large and hard. The bathroom and shower was clean and spacious, good water pressure, but the shampoo & soap was extremely watered down.
