The Host is very friendly. if you are going in winters you will get heaters in bed which is an addon that you must like. Overall its a nice place to stay. Many viewpoints and monasteries are nearby.

I stayed for two nights with my almost 5 year old daughter. From beginning to end it was a fabulous experience. Rebecca helped us arrange a taxi from Bodgora airport with a trustworthy taxi driver, she then subsequently helped organise a driver for the day to get us to the zoo and Mall after our toy train joy ride, and a significantly cheaper option to get back again to the airport (Wizzride). We also met Sharon and her daughter and had a delicious breakfast. Set your expectations for the cold - but plenty of duvets and blankets were available and the game changing electric blanket saved the day. The bathroom hot water geser was great, do note it is a bucket shower arrangement. Some really lovely touches of Darjeeling tea to make in your room, chocolates, pictures. Outside it is amazing that the toy train goes past your window and the Mountain Views are spectacular. Wifi was a bit patchy but who cares when you have such gorgeous views. There are shared taxis to the bazaar from right outside for 15 rupees per person which in itself was an experience for my daughter! We would definitely stay again and would warmly recommend staying with Rebecca and her family.

- the concept: it's a hybrid between a hostel and a homestay
- the location, because being not in the center (even though on the main road to reach it) it's quieter
- the rooms are spacious
- there are electric blankets on the beds, which during cold winter nights was a blessing
- above all, the staff running this simple place is just incredible, they are so helpful, welcoming and they make you feel at home. They served 3 different types of breakfast, one for each morning I was staying, all of them homemade and tasty. They will give you lots of suggestions to visit darjeeling and its surroundings.
- the locals in the vicinity of the hostel are great people, try to go there for a meal, I was there 3 times and it was really great!
- the price is absolutely fine for the service provided
There may be some deficiencies, like
- no heating in the rooms (but with the electric blanket and the blankets provided I had no problems sleeping comfortably)
- mattresses could be improved, even though for me they were great.
- instead of a shower, there is a bucket and a plastic jug, maybe some people will find it not so practical, but as there is a great water shortage in Darjeeling this method is more environmentally friendly
But as I've said, my experience overall has been more than great, and those minor deficiencies have not impacted my stay

I came for 5 nights and due to the terrible rains I was unable to get to Sikkim this time round. But it mattered not as I got to explore this amazing city! The hosts Rebecca and Sharon became my sisters and once you are here, you are HOME! Exploring the upper rias of DB Giri and Gandhi Road are a must: get away from Hill Cart (after you’ve exploed it!) and head up to the peace of the higher roads that lead you towards Ghoom or Chowrasta!

I liked the owner's friendly behaviour first. Then it comes to resources arrangements - like everything required was already there.
The chocolates and especially the tea offered were excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my stays there and would recommend others too.
The only thing which was a bit annoying was the power cut. If you intend to do anything using your laptop or tab then make sure you have your mini usp and internet dongle .

A place that make you feel like home. Location is 5 mins away from Downtown but there is a shared taxi just outside the hostel for 50 cent. Thanks to the host and the chef, they help me with everything they can to make my stay most comfort. A Huge bonus is you can even see a Himalayan range from the balcony if the sky is clear

I chose this hostel thinking I might get a zostel kind of experience, but this was a mix of hostel and homestay which is really unique.
The host Mrs. Rebecca is an absolute gem of a person with her sound knowledge for tea. She constantly kept reminding me to stay covered in layers given the cold weather. Her contacts who cook for people staying at the hostel (exactly opposite side) are also so sweet and prepare soul filling food. The driver, Mr. Robin, whom she had contacted for me is also a warm human being who kept me entertained with his stories while driving around. If not for him, I would have surely missed a breathtaking sunrise at Tiger Hill.
My entire stay was just wonderful. If you're looking to stay in Darjeeling with someone who has extensive knowledge about everything in the town, do not hesitate to stay here.

We enjoyed our stay mostly thanks to Rebecca (the host) and her incredible nobel personality, very kind, warm, responsible and generous lady, she welcomed us in the most hospitable way, was very attentive to all our requests. We also liked a lot our excursions with the guide, that Rebecca organised for us, loved the food that was cooked by Rebecca and her family, also we adored the food that was prepared especially for us at the cafe opposite the hostel. This hostel is so healing for the soul, like a home, the communication and interaction with Rebecca and her family was so touching, sincere and heartful. It was very sweet that the host invited us to join her family around the fire place, we shared stories and enjoyed the singing, you made our day, thank you! You can watch the mountains from the balcony if it's not misty, so the location and building are unique and best for the most picturesque view. The room was clean, there was a kettle, a welcome cake (wow!), sweets, genuine Darjeeling tea. The bed sheets are heated with electricity. Many warm duvets. Geyser water heater. Rebecca provided a heater for us upon our request. Better to come at warm season. 30-minutes slow walk distance uphill to the city centre. 5 mins walk to the nearby Dali monastery. Would love to come back in summer. Thank you!
We loved everything about our stay except one significant (for us) thing - we felt extremely cold inside the room and the washroom. We assume that this is common for Darjeeling overall. The building is very cold (we stayed in January), so I recommend to take very warm pijamas, socks and heating pads to keep with you any time you are out of bed. The bed sheet is the only heated place. Taking shower is very cold even though the water is warm, but you only have the basin to mix water inside and use with the bowl to pour on yourself, no shower hose option. So taking a "shower" is shaking freezing, I have long hair and I am used to take a shower twice a day, so for me that was impossible to do, too cold (though in a cold Darjeeling weather one doesn't sweat much). You can take wet wipes as an option. If you plan to wash your hair (ladies) - it will not dry for long time (might catch a cold as well), a hairdrier would help (but might cut out the electricity). Towels are cold and do not get dry. No storage for clothes of belongings inside the room, we kept ours in suitcases. We kept our clothes under the duvet so it is not very cold. Slippers got cold. But the lack of my personal comfort related to cold was defifnitely outbalanced by the warmth of the host.

Rebecca and her family were extremely hospitable and welcoming during our stay. She provided some great suggestions for things to do in and around Darjeeling, the room was homely and she took an interest in us as people. Overall, this was a special experience that made our stay in Darjeeling very enjoyable and one to remember.

The best part of our stay was the host. Rebecca and her family were wonderful. They helped us with everything we needed like getting a taxi from Siliguri to Darjeeling really late upon arrival. She offered us an amazing breakfast and teas and shared her knowledge on everything about Darjeeling. And because we were staying there at christmas she even gave a small present in the form of chocolate and cake!

Rebecca is a wonderful host and makes all efforts to ensure her guests are comfortable and well looked after. She's an avid traveler herself and I enjoyed chatting with her about her travel experiences.
The room I stayed in was neat, clean and comfortable. Appreciated the extra touches in the room, like home-made chocolates and Darjeeling tea leaves with equipment including a porcelain teapot for brewing a tasty cup.
Nice views of Kanchenjunga from the gallery outside the room, subject to clear weather.
Located about 2.5km from the town centre, on the approach road when coming from Siliguri. Getting around is easy, with shared and private taxis available right outside.

This is my first solo travel ☺️ with my six years old daughter. I do thank The Almighty as well as I am very happy that I have made the correct decision to choose this property in booking.com. My host Ms Rebecca is so much caring even before the travel starts from my home. This tour cannot be successful without her guidance and love. My stay was so comfortable indeed. She guided me, helped me in every detail. I am overwhelmed with Rebecca's attitude, behaviour and perception. I admire her literally... I wish to go this hostel again and again...
