Nestled in Draper, this charming house for $288 per night is a great option for your next trip. Located privately on the mountainside overlooking where the New River meets Claytor Lake, In the Cloud’s Cabin is certain to take your breath away. Equipped with luxury furnishings and a large deck with a gorgeous view this is the home to book if you’re looking for a tranquil retreat. Spend your evenings fireside watching the moon over the river and your mornings sipping coffee on the back deck when the clouds come to meet the lake. In the summertime be sure to bike the scenic New River Trail (only 2 miles away, bike rentals available at the Draper Mercantile located next to the trail), rent a motorized boat or visit the lake beach Claytor Lake State Park (only 18 minutes away), or float the river and go horseback riding on the New River Trail Foster Falls State park (only 30 minutes away). In the winter enjoy the fall foliage, evenings spent by one of the two gas log fireplaces, nights playing pool downstairs, or a snowy view from the back deck. This property has it all! We had a fantastic visit with our family! We loved the Draper Mercantile. We enjoyed seeing the deer and the weather was perfect!

The perfect location for a weekend getaway. House was super clean and plenty of room for the whole family. Kids especially loved the game room downstairs. Highly recommend.

This reservation was the fourth or fifth made via VRBO and we were always quite satisfied with the accommodations recommended. The cabin was as advertised, very conveniently located for our visit, and very clean. However, we would like to make these points which we found bothersome and which might also be the same for future guests.
The refrigerator icemaker and water dispenser were inoperable. Filled plastic trays were in the freezer.The dishwasher door was locked, as if it was in the middle of a cycle, but it would not restart. So, we could not use the dishwasher.
Watching TV has its issues, with no cable. I failed to bring my passwords to streaming channels, so we resorted to DVDs, of which there were only 3, geared to teenagers and young adults. There was an abundance of DVDs for young children, which is a good thing. But, for adults and "seasoned" citizens, there was little for our age groups.
The bedding in the basement bedroom was not what one would have expected. The plastic shield, the super-thin mattress, and the over-sized sheets made sleeping an unpleasant experience.
The temperature in the two upper bedrooms was unexpectedly warm.
I make these comments with the genuine hope they will be received in good faith and help make your lovely facility an absolute joy it could be.

We had an awesome time in this large log cabin. It was very well stocked with garbage bags, soap, etc. The place was very clean.
Be aware that the master BR has an old claw foot tub with a shower in it. It’s a big step in and out with no handle, so if the person using that room has mobility problems be aware. Upstairs bedrooms were a little on the hot side compared to the lower floors so we had to keep it cooler than I would have preferred otherwise.
There’s an awesome view from the deck and it was very peaceful. We were able to see the Milky Way galaxy at night! With the telescope they so generously left in the house, my son was able to find Jupiter and Saturn to my delight.
To enjoy the river or bike trail you need to take a ride. The bike trail is not that far, but pretty hilly to the trail from the house with no shoulder so personally I wouldn’t ride to it. The lake is maybe 25 minutes away. Boat, kayak, and SUP rentals are available there. The river is really really clean. Fishing is good.
The kitchen was well stocked and the appliances were in good repair.
I did have to call, email the management company several times for check in instructions. They had told me it would be sent 3 days prior, but by 1.5 days prior I hadn’t received anything yet. They don’t always pick up the phone when you call, so I was getting a little bit concerned.
I would return again. Solid 4.5 for us.

Great family friendly rental with pool table, foosball table, poker/card table, wrap around deck, and good space for all.
Wish there was more than one TV in the house. The games, pool and foosball tables are old and not in great shape, but still work :-)

I never received an email with instructions on how to get in to the property, we were expecting someone to be there as we arrived and no one was, the property manager never provided a phone number, I called VRBO 1800 number and there was no one available to take my call, emailed several times in a period of 3 hours and no one responded, left VM @ 1800# and finally got a call back with the lock box code an hour later. The property and area are beautiful, very nice as expected, I wish it had access to the lake but it does not. Unfortunately the rooms weren't very clean, there were dead bugs in 2 of the rooms. The door knobs and blinds can be updated, some of the blinds are broken, knobs were loose. Also the kitchen could use a wine opener and some soup bowls. The grill can also be update and cleaned.

One of the best rental experience we have had. Rental company that manages the property were awesome! They helped to accommodate our schedule for arrival! The home was overall in great condition and was perfect for our visit, there were a few items that needed attention but it was nothing that prevented us from using the home. Staff were great to call ahead of inclement weather and tell us our options, they were very kind! We did make a call to there afterhours number and never received a call back, we just had a question about checkout so not a big deal. Will likely rent again if going to this area on another trip.

Pure joy!
Meeting family halfway between Chantilly and Cookeville could not have more perfect at Cabin in the Clouds. It's "Bring your food and personal belongings" the rest is taken care of!!! In the Clouds is beautiful and the view is wonderful. We had four generations staying in one house, the layout is perfect. We'll be back!!!

Above and Beyond!
The cabin truly was in the clouds, one early morning I thought it was foggy then realized it was a cloud lifting! The views were spectacular.
The cabin/ home was very clean and comfortable with a perfect layout for our group: together time and space to find quiet time too. Loved the sun room and both decks.
The kitchen was well equipped for making family meals together. The pantry and closet spaces were great to help keep the place feel tidy.

This is a lovely home with great layout and wonderful view.
We loved having the lower level bedroom and game room for the teenagers. The locations was great and only a few minutes from the local marina where we were able to rent a pontoon boat for the day. Hope to go back again!

Perfect for Family!
Perfect for VT graduation!! Wonderful set up, very well supplied kitchen, super comfortable! NRT folks flexible about our greater number of people due to children which made all the difference. Wish we could have stayed longer and recommending to friends!!
