Nestled in Raystown Lake, this attractive cabin for $167 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Cabin Shabby Chic Cottage style cabin in the Woods with a bonus “The Bunkhouse” for additional guests. (AC in both) The Bunkhouse adds an extra Bathroom & extra sleeping for 6 more people. All together there is room to sleep 12 people in beds. All as comfortable as home. Add on 2 sofas and a futon for 3 more people. Luxurious amenities. Top of the line linens, towels, area rugs on wood floors, new mattresses, leather sofas. Pet blankets and cushions so... Bring your furry friend along. Located on 4 acres of wooded land. Beautiful Gardens. This place has all the amenities of home. Perfect for Family gatherings. X Large areas to park your boat and trailer. ATVs are welcome at your own risk. Tenting areas out back or on the grassy pipeline, Picnic Table, Bistro- Cafe tables & Chairs in addition to the dining area on the covered deck. Fire pit with Sitting area around the fire pit. Grill on Webber Gas Grill, or Texas Grill style grill on a wood fire. Use our firewood that is provided for you. Full large kitchen to cook inside or grill out your choice. Lots of outdoor dining space. Pack lite full-size washer/dryer along with detergent, fabric softener & dryer sheets. Primary Bedroom: Queen bed and a full-size futon. Bedroom 2: Full Size bunk beds for kids & or adults. In the living room area, there are 2 Comfy (regular not sleepers) Leather Sofas, Open Concept, Large Fully Equipped Kitchen, Living Room, Dining Room, X-Large Dinning Table Seats 6 to10 people, Covered Gathering Deck with Large Table & Chairs, Full Lighting. Then there's the bunkhouse for groups larger then 6. The Bunkhouse sleep an addition 6 people. This Cabin/ Cottage with Bunkhouse has been in our family for many years. We have made sure it has all the comforts of home but that "Get away from it all" feeling. Relax or Party. It's private and up to you on how you spend your time. 4 Acres of wooded land to explore. Tons of space out back for tents, Fire Pits. Quiet. Feel far from the hassle of the day-to-day fast lane. Cell phones work. DSL internet at the cottage. There are 4 Smart TVs on the property, and all have DVD players with a large variety of movies. We are in the woods and can only get DSL internet so it's not possible to have a number of things streaming at once. If you have Verizon Jet Packs or a device with a hotspot it will pick up the internet also. This is the reason there are 4 Smart TVs with DVD Players, Tons of Movies, Books, Outdoor Games, Board Games, Cards, Dice, and more. I Know you'll Love it! My husband and I enjoyed our stay here while visiting our daughter for family weekend at Juniata College. My daughter also stayed over one night. Extremely clean and well equipped house, beds were very comfortable. We will definitely stay again when we visit her. Only slight thing to be aware of is it's a pretty long gravel road to get to the house so be aware if that's an issue for your car (it was fine for us).

Overall, we loved everything. The owners were so nice and easy to communicate with. I felt a real connection with the history of the cabin, Animal House. We love all animals! Thank you so much for allowing us to share your special place. The Bunkhouse was so nice. We plan on returning!

I can not say enough how nice this property is. Melissa is very prompt in communicating. The cabin was very clean. The cabin was cutely decorated. There are so many things provided and also notes explaining procedures that it really made me feel like she thought of everything to make people happy and comfortable! The outside and deck area are impressive and had plenty of seating. The cabin is in a great location for a multitude of outdoor activities and also not far from stores and restaurants. We had a wonderful few days and wished we could have stayed longer!

Family stayed for a long weekend. Had everything we needed. The covered outdoor patio was the best. Spent lots of time reading and playing card games. Loved all the little notes to help acclimate us to the property.

This is our 3rd year to the area, and by far our favorite house thus far. The house was extremely clean, and well stocked. Our kids loved playing out back, and so did the dogs! We had friends camping over on the Juniata river, so it took us about 30min to get there, and 40 to seven points. It was so nice to have everything there we needed, next time will save me a ton of packing! Our only issue is the bed was a tempurpedic or something, and my husband who is 3 times my size would go to bed first - I would roll into him, almost like an air mattress would. Thankfully most nights I was so exhausted from activities I would fall asleep putting my boys down or on the couch 😝. Overall, amazing home, and Melissa was so sweet to work with! We will be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were pleasantly surprised. The directions to the property were spot on, and when we arrived the property was exactly as described. There was plenty of things to do at the property, and as an extra bonus there was an awesome booklet with the history of the property. The grandchildren enjoyed making smores in the firepit, as well as playing the games supplied by the host. The property was far enough away from the busy areas, but close enough to be able to run to town for necessities (ran out of eggs...LOL) It was an awesome weekend, and we will be returning.

From the start, Communication was A+ from Melissa. She was very quick to respond to any question. The house was very clean and the AC worked great! The kitchen was loaded with dishes, pots and pans, spices, saran wrap, foil, even cooking oil, brown sugar...little things you may have forgotten, etc. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of blankets and towels. The check in/out process was easy. Very nice just having a doorcode. We LOVED the porch area. That's where we spent most of our time. The fire pit area was nice. Plenty of seating and there were marshmallow sticks. We also had our son and his family stay in the "bunkhouse" which they loved.Such a great space!! The only downfall is that it's wasnt close to Tatman Run where we swam everyday(25mins away) but I knew when I booked it was a little farther. Friday and Saturday nights the atvs were pretty loud going back and forth, but I already knew that from looking at reviews. We have rented many cabins and this one had alot of "stuff", you could almost say "clutter" but it was part of the decor and it really didnt get in the way.

This cottage is in a very peaceful location, no traffic noise. We had breakfast on the screen- in porch while listening to many birds singing in the woods. It is very clean and has a great kitchen. We would go back again.

First, the communication with Melissa was amazing. She responded to every question I had in a super timely fashion. She was also accommodating when I asked for an additional hour for checkout.
Second, once we arrived at the house it instantly felt like we were at home. A kitchen fully stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, spices/seasonings, a washer and dryer, TVs, and pictures on the walls. I brought my own dog bowls, but she had 2 bowls and a kennel if needed. She had seat covers just in case the dogs got on the couch. And outside, attached to one of the trees there is a rope with a latch so you can put the dog outside and wander around a little.
Third, the lights on the deck, at night, are amazing. It really set a scene.
Last, there were plenty of sheets, blankets, towels, and cleaning supplies.
I highly reccomend it.

This was our first go at renting a cabin and the entire process went so smoothly. Upon booking we were messaged by the host confirming our details. A few days before we recieved detailed instructions about check in.
Upon getting to the cabin we were absolutely floored by how nice it looked. The pictures online do not do this rental any justice! The style inside is rustic, but all the amenities are modern. We loved sitting on the fully covered porch / outdoor room. Our dogs loved the soft couches and the fresh air. I loved learning thr history of The Animal House (read the book that was left on the table!)
Our host messaged us about fun things to do in the area the weekend we stayed and when we advised them about a very very minor hiccup with putting out the garbage they were fast to respond with an apology and a solution. Very good at communicating and fast to respond.
There was more than ample room for our bass boat and the location was only around 20 minutes from Snyders Run Launch. Along the way to the launch are all the local spots for gear, gas and food. Could not ask for a better location.
We are looking forward to possibly coming back next year, it was just that well done a cabin!

Melissa's Vrbo is welcoming, relaxing, quiet. The TLC put into this home where the owner has fond childhood memories (story in the guestbook) is evident by all the little touches inside and out. You won't be disappointed if you choose this home. It is closer to Lake Raystown Resort and Tatman Run than the visitor's center and Seven Points but we only went there one day and didn't mind the drive. We enjoyed hiking and sight seeing on the east side of the lake.

Melissa is an excellent owner. She was kind, friendly and available. The premises were clean and there was not a thing we needed, indoors or out. The kitchen was very well equipped. Great area outside for S’mores and story telling. The teens enjoyed the trails to ride.

Another Amazing Vacation Stay
This was our 2nd year staying here and it did not disappoint in any way. Beautiful, clean and so relaxing. We went to Kelly's Korner as recommended by Melissa and it was Excellent from the staff to the food. Highly recommend it to others to do so if you haven't already.

This cottage was everything I wanted and more. The cottage was extremely clean, quiet and the owners had supplied extras just in case you forgot something. The outside was also wonderful from the patio to the firepit. Relaxing by a fire at night was a great way to end the day. I would recommend this cabin to all. The owners returned all my messages immediately and answered all my questions.

It was evident that everything is maintained nicely and well-managed. We had so much fun exploring the lake and nearby towns. There is a lot to do with kids (hiking, caverns, swimming at the lake, Horseshoe curve, Del Grosso park, etc.) and our time at the cottage was relaxing and fun. We made nightly fires in the pit, hung out on the spacious covered patio, and spent a lot of time outdoors. We can't wait to return again!
