A very welcoming and homely place to stay in Amami. The breakfast was outstanding, and the host and hostess were wonderful people who made the stay feel very personal and warm. The location is also great for exploring the island. I would happily stay here again.

The couple who operate the place are nice persons.
There is a water fountain.
Clean.
Sound-proofing is non-existent. You'll hear everything from every part of the house.
One restroom, and one bathroom for the entire guest-house (4? 5? rooms). But luckily, from your room you can hear people going in or out of the restroom; that helps for planning..
No sheet between you and the blanket. No matter how clean the place is, I don't trust a blanket.
Location is only good if you have a car. Else, aim for a more central location (or just give up on this island altogether).
They have this "key routine", where you need to hand over the keys when you get out. That means you'll be asked where you intend to go when you get out, and where you were and how was your day when you get back. Not my thing.
Also, you need to plan in advance if you're going to come back late (late meaning 9PM, apparently).
They mention a garden, but there is no such thing. The pictures, too, are misleading in that regard.
