There are 5 large masters with AC & en-suites that walk out to the lush gardens and a pool in a private setting. 5th bedroom is in separate area and may be added to your reservation for an additional charge or is automatically included for groups over 8. In the 1980s, Terry had a vision to make an hexagon-shaped west Indies style home. He chose the hexagon shape to take advantage of the 180 views. It took him 15 years to lovingly build Villa Agel mostly by himself by hand. Terry has since retired to a small town in France called Agel (the inspiration for the name). Come be our guest at this one of a kind villa over looking Friis Bay. Villa Agel is a spacious and elegant villa set on a knoll overlooking Coral Bay offering 180 degree views of Coral Bay, Drake's Passage, and the British Virgin Islands. Though it is only minutes from the best beaches and restaurants in the Caribbean, guests enjoy complete privacy, whether sunning by the large pool or dining outside in the shade of palm trees and flowering bougainvillea. You'll fall asleep to the gentle lapping of waves on the nearby shore. Exceptional design, craftsmanship and landscaping set Villa Agel apart. Traditional West Indian stone walls and arches are complemented by rich mahogany woodwork. You will enjoy the well-equipped spacious granite and mahogany kitchen. A formal dining area and living room wrap around the central stone tower, a separate wet bar is great for entertaining, the view out the window is spectacular, and opens up to a generous deck with 180 view with incredible sunrises and stargazing. Off each side of the main living area are two large masters with air conditioning, vaulted ceilings, and en-suites. Both have traditional Caribbean mahogany four poster beds, views of Coral Bay, sliders or french doors that open onto the pool deck, and outdoor showers with tropical plants and beautiful stonework that are high enough for privacy. At the heart of this remarkable compound is a generous and very private pool, bordered by terracotta tile decks and lounge chairs to delight sun worshipers. If you prefer shade, two pergolas, mature palms, and lush tropical gardens offer several quiet, shady retreats. Antique brick arches surround an expansive covered gallery overlooking the pool and Coral Bay. On the other side of the pool stands another pod that holds two more master bedrooms with en-suite. Both bedrooms have queen beds, private deck, AC, and a covered porch with plenty of seating to enjoy the view. Perfect for families to keep separate spaces or couples vacationing together – together yet private! Privacy is given very high priority at Villa Agel. While the managers are on-sight, they are on a separate level maintaining privacy, yet close enough to give personal attention. Schedules permitting, they will meet you at the villa to acquaint you with everything. You may never want to leave. Villa Agel is a short drive to the heart of Coral Bay with many restaurant options such as Johnny Lime, Aquabistro, Salty Mongoose, Pizza in Paradise, Rhum Lines, and the famous Skinny Legs where you can get a cheeseburger in paradise. You are a 15 minute drive to Maho & Francis, part of the North shore beaches, 20 minutes to Hansen in the East End, and a 5 minute drive to Salt Pond, one of the best snorkeling spots on the island and the trail head for Ram Head hike. This house was better than we could have ever imagined! It was spacious enough for all 10 of us (3 family groups). The pool was perfect for kids, teens, and adults. It was located on the quiet side, which we absolutely loved! Close to restaurants and near lots of beaches. The kids enjoyed seeing the tortoises that visited every evening. The outdoor showers were a fun addition the tropical stay. The house was stocked with everything we needed, towels, pool toys, chairs, umbrellas, and all the kitchen utensils you need.

Amazing House on an Amazing Island. Very clean as advertised. We had a multifamily group of ten. Would also be perfect for up to 5 couples. Each bedroom has their own private bath. Kitchen table was large enough for everyone to eat/play games together. Kitchen was well stocked if you plan on cooking. It was nice to cool down in the pool at the end of the day in an expansive outdoor area. Never knew where the "wild" turtle was going to appear each day. Still trying to figure out how he went up and down the stairs. We traveled with our own snorkel gear and coolers. However, there were plenty of both available at the house if needed. We did take advantage of the 10+ beach chairs every day. We will be staying there again if we are traveling with a group of 6 or more. Thank you for a wonderful travel experience.

Our families so enjoyed the Villa Agel! From the great layout, where each bedroom has its own bathroom to the perfect sized pool to relax by in the afternoon after being at the beaches all day. All necessary items to bring to the beach and easy drive to so many awesome snorkel spots.

We can not say enough about Villa Agel. There were six of us, three couples, that stayed for a week. After the drive from the ferry dock, in the dark, after a long day of traveling, we were thrilled to arrive at such an awesome place. All of the bedrooms had their own personality, were very spacious, comfortable and very private. The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare any meal, the grill was great, we grilled mahi, shrimp and steaks one night. The review that mentioned an issue with the grill was wrong, we had no problems with it at all.
The outdoor spaces were so comfortable, from watching the sunrise, pretty much every morning, on the front balcony drinking coffee to sitting around the table by the pool in the evenings with cocktails, perfect.
Moss and Corey were very pleasant and nice to chat with. They were available by phone or text if there were any issues or questions. Catherine was always quick to respond to my many messages.
There is nothing that we could say was missing. We know we’ll be back to St John and would definitely book Villa Agel again.
We also loved our daily visitors the turtle, the iguana and Bread the cat. Bread is so sweet!

We have stayed on St. John for years and each year in Coral Bay. This home was perfect in many ways. Pool, Dining area, Views and location near Salt Pond and Miss Lucy's etc. However, we will not be coming back to this home. 1. A dead rat in the house caused and enormous stink and the property manager only showed up after we reached out to the property owner. 2. The grill was beyond disgusting and out of order when we arrived and wanted to grill our dinner. Again, we reached out to the owner and we at least received a full propane tank. This helped, but the inner workings of the grill were completely rusted through. Pool was fabulous. Turtle was a welcome visitor. Bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. Lots or snorkeling supplies, beach chairs and coolers for our daily treks to the beach. Kitchen was reasonably well provisioned but at least one of the stove burners wasn't working correctly. All things considered we had a great time but this property didn't live up to our expectations. Oh, one more thing. The house is off the grid and uses solar for electric and hot water. This is wonderful and we support the effort. However, if you want a hot shower or even a warm shower in the morning it can be very challenging. We had to ask more than a few times to have the back up electric hot water heater bumped up, particularly on cloudy days.

We had a great time at the Villa Agel. Communications with the owner and property manager were prompt and helpful. The view overlooking Coral Bay is incredible. Our grandkids enjoyed the pool. I would highly recommend the Villa Agel.

We had a fabulous time in St. John! This home was gorgeous and perfectly located. We loved being on the Coral Bay side of the island where it is quieter, but still has beautiful beaches and plenty to do. The house was stocked with everything we needed. The owners were super helpful before our trip. They were quick to answer questions. Corey and Moss, the property managers, were fantastic! They were responsive, friendly and helpful.
We would absolutely rent from them again and stay in this house again!

Absolutely Beautiful Villa
From day one Catherine was incredibly helpful and responded quickly to any questions. She gave great recommendations and helped us arrange massages at the Villa. After check in she reached out to confirm we were all set. Corey and Moss being onsite was great. Corey met us at the Villa and gave us a tour. They were so incredibly helpful. Moss took us on a boat excursion around the island which ended at Lime Out - a definite highlight of our trip.
The Villa is beautiful, couldn't be better for our family of 9. We all had space and the views are breathtaking. Each morning we sat on the deck and just enjoyed looking out. The rooms were extremely comfortable, and the master bedroom bathroom is the best! The kitchen was well stocked, and after a beach day the pool was a great way to cool off and just relax at home.
We're big fans of Coral Bay and if you want a quiet home with beautiful views I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. We hope to be back again soon.

Well before check in, contact was made by owners & they were so helpful making a family vacation stress free... Giving helpful tips on taxi services, Ferry times, grocery stores, the beaches , and liquor stores...
Upon our arrival , the pictures of the Villa didn't disappoint, as it was even more beautiful in person... The property managers were also as helpful as could be.. Sharing about local bar & food spots & secret beaches that were not as populated...
Our "guaranteed" sea turtle sighting came true for us all as we swam side by side with countless Turtles...
Our Family had an absolutely fantastic time & we recommend it to everyone..

Outstanding family vacation vill
My family spent our first full family vacation since 2007 in Villa Agel and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The views were magnificent, the beds were comfortable, and it has absolutely everything we needed. Quiet and peaceful. Our group included seniors all the way down to infants and it was perfect for all.
The kids especially enjoyed the daily visits from the red footed tortoises.

The views were incredible and location was great. It was a quick drive to local restaurants and stores. The pool and outdoor seating areas got a lot of use. The kitchen was well equipped for the grilled dinners we had. David, property manager, was very friendly and helpful.

She is an extremely organized owner who makes sure your stay is personalized and is readily available to answer questions and give advice on the island. The caretaker David was very helpful and always ready lend a hand if needed. He made you feel like this was truly “your home away from home “. He even sent my daughters favorite jacket back to us in Wisconsin when she left it behind ! They both made our stay extra special with a surprise chocolate cake to celebrate my 50th birthday.

Best vacation ever!!
Villa Agel is magic. You can hear the ocean and feel the sea breeze. The views are spectacular north to Coral Bay and east to the sunrise. Although it is a bit far from the action in Cruz Bay, you are close to beautiful beaches and great hikes. It’s also wonderful to be at the Villa with its lovely garden and pool. Catherine and Eric have done an amazing post hurricane restoration. They were also very responsive to our every need as was their property manager David. This is a very special place. We would give it 7 stars!!!
