Positive - Clean and comfortable. Negative - Bad host, felt unwelcome. Very damp.

The pace was comfortable and clean, also easy to access, the directions on the map were precise. The kitchen met all the needs, and was easy to navigate. The living room was nice to relax in. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space to put my clothes away.

1 - Damp - if you have any respiratory sensitivity, this is not the place for you. There is a dehumidifier in the property, but it is somewhat noisy. The kitchen cupboards definitely have the all too familiar musty smell and the towels weren't properly dry by the evening unless the heating was on and one corner of the bedroom smelled. Not good for people with allergies or asthma. I would not have dropped the score by much for this if it werent for the number 2 dislike. 2- The host. Alas, the host makes or breaks the experience. I was dealing with the husband, frankly, he should not be allowed front line - unfriendly, does not smile, and made me feel like an imposter. I put all the blinds down as a result, because it felt like he will be monitoring for any possible misbehaviour - the house is on their property. Towards the end of my stay, I saw some friendly goldfish and put my hand in the pond, he came out and instead of politely asking, I actually got shouted at - he never considered that I did not behave in any malicious manner - I always treated him politely and left the place as clean as possible. His wife seemed really friendly, but unfortuately, she did not deal with me. In conclusion, if you are looking for a relaxing, private place to stay, this is not it. Perhaps if you are an older couple you may get some respect. They should consider damp proofing the property and decide on whether they really want to rent the place - if they do, they should make people feel comfortable and welcome. I am definitely not going to rush back as a result of his attitude.

Lovely stay at Field View

Very well equipped including things that in other places I've had to buy. The owner also Included some lovely treats 😋 Nice quiet location very peaceful.

The bed was a bit firm for us and the settee a little bit low but possibly other people wouldn't find it a problem!

Expensive for what you get. Lady in charge very unhelpful. As a person who works in this industry she really needs to get another job.
