We made the best of it was very unhappy with the home.

The location was great. 2 minute walk from the beach.

We booked with 4 adults and 2 kids excited for something close to the beach and something that looked fresh and clean from the photos. The bio also says a children’s playground but upon asking this is not true. We booked and arrived around 5 and unpacked. Our home was 78 so I turned AC on. We went to grocery shop and grab something to cook for dinner. Came back a hour or two later with burgers to cook. The AC was still 78 and our entire stay never went under 75 degrees. We went to grill and discovered a grill covered in food from past stays. No hand soap in my bathroom. At this I hadn’t mentioned anything to vacasa. We all ate and headed to the beach. When we arrived back I went to put my kids in the bath. The bathtub drain would not drain so we plunged it and pulled out to clumps of hair. It started to drain slowly. When I turned around we saw a roach run behind the bathroom vanity. This is when I reached out to vacasa about these issues with pictures. My husband and I sat in the kitchen for a bit after the kids were in bed and started to see roach after roach. There were big ones and babies so we knew there is a nest somewhere. They were mostly above the sink behind the cabinets. The home looks very different from the pictures. It’s listed as a 2 bed 2 bath but it is actually a 3 bed and 2 bath. After I talked to vacasa a man came the next day to spray for roaches. He knocked twice and while I was getting dressed just opened the door and say “I’ve been knocking” He said he’d come back around 2 and spray while we were at the beach. I mentioned the AC and he said that’s normal around there. When we came back it smelled vaguely of spray but we were still smushing roaches off the plates in the cabinets and for the rest of our stay. Our WiFi was very spotty. We were never offered an discount on our stay or future visits. We made the best of our stayed and enjoyed Folly Beach so much. We will definitely explore better options next stay. With cleaning fees, over priced and not worth it.

Location was great.

The place smelled like smoke and there was empty cans/garbage in most of the rooms. Sent photos to the property managers but they didn’t care.

The house was older but comfortable. Nice large deck.

Parking area was muddy due to weather. No driveway.

it was my first “girls” weekend with my two young daughters- so close to the beach and super 50’s style beach place! def

I’m from Charleston but now live in TX and visit my mom in a west Ashley about every 4 weeks or so- this was a great break from staying at “home”! my girls LOVED it- and it was clean and super cute! the outdoor upstairs patio was a great place to rewind!

The atmosphere on Folly is relaxed and the restaurant choices are endless.

Easy walk to the beach and enormous deck for outside gatherings.

Loved everything.
