About this house rental
Located in Peaks Island, this charming house for $249 per night is a great choice for your next trip. **Please note, we never advertise on Craigslist** Originally built in the 1890s, this cozy island cottage was recently renovated with an open floor plan, and has stunning views of Casco Bay. Enjoy fresh lobster, fun in the sun, or just relaxing on the beach. Take the ferry into Portland for a night out and great food, or cook on the grill and dine in the back courtyard. Once night falls, light a campfire, have a glass of wine in the Adirondack chairs, and bask in the island life. A large master bedroom on the second floor and a murphy bed on the first floor make this home ideal for up to 4 people. A fully stocked kitchen with a gas stove will keep the chefs on vacation happy. There is wireless internet, washer and dryer, split air conditioning, and hardwood floors throughout providing all the comforts of home away from home. Peaks island is the perfect Maine getaway. Explore the island by walking, beachcombing, biking, or golf cart.

What an adorable house. We booked this house for our wedding week and used it for my girls and I to get ready the morning of our wedding. My parents own a house down the road and it was really nice staying in a new house on the island. We were very happy and comfortable there. The house is full of windows so there's a ton of natural light coming in. The couch isn't the comfiest but you shouldn't be spending much time on it if you're here for vacation! Check in was easy. There are two bikes outside and a fire pit. It was a perfect week. Thank you!

We had a wonderful 2 wk stay at Our Happy Place! This cozy home had everything we needed.
We Uber'd from airport to ferry and used the 2 bikes as our main transportation for our stay (kids brought bikes) and we never rented a car.
This area is relatively active in the summer with cyclists, walkers, and golf carts and the neighbors enjoy keeping up their landscaping in the am, so we were thankful to be able to shut the windows and use AC in the mornings to sleep in!
We really enjoyed the Adirondack chairs out front and beautiful water views! No problems with water pressure or hot water. Super thankful for the washer/dryer and dishwasher that were all working well and in pristine condition (there is no longer a laundromat on Peaks).
We thoroughly enjoyed Centennial Beach (nearby property owners have a "private beach" sign posted in an attempts to keep tourists away, but it is NOT private, so don't let that scare you. Everybody has a right to enjoy the ocean and the City has a ROW from Island Ave straight down to the water :) )
We had a few minor questions and the owners were super fast to respond!
We've been coming to Peaks since the early 2000's and this might've been our favorite home that we've stayed at! Would 100% book again!

We enjoyed the Cottage, it was very pleasant.
But, we had an issue with the cameras being on in the front yard and back yard during our stay. We felt like this was very intrusive.
We were asked to wash and dry the towels we used and to take our trash to the transfer station before we left. We thought with the price we were paying for cleaning that this should not have been our responsibility.
Also the charcoal grill out back was a filthy mess and we did not even want to use it.

Never visited Peaks Island before nor stayed on an island. The cottage was high style.....my wife and i felt like we spent our 40th anniversary in a Hallmark movie!

This was a sweet cottage. Clean with everything you need. So open and bright. Since Oct visit this year, chilly one morning so the heating unit was a great bonus. Also loved the entry system, made it easier not worrying about key.

We had such a wonderful week on Peaks! My husband and I absolutely loved this sweet home and it was the perfect space to both prepare for and decompress after our island wedding. The house was peaceful, well appointed, clean, and cozy. Lorna was wonderful about communicating and even accommodated our request to extend our stay when we wanted to squeeze in one last sunny day on the island. Thank you for making the best week of our lives even better!!

What a great stay. My wife and I spent the month of August in this nicely updated one bedroom cottage. I worked remotely part of the time - wifi is strong and reliable. And I had a great view of the water across the street the whole time. We enjoyed the fire pit out front, rode our bikes into town for coffee in the morning, and woke up to a view of the water from our bed each morning. It even has AC for when the temps get a bit too much. Dishwasher, washer/dryer make things easier for a longer stay. We recommend this beautiful cottage unreservedly.

This was a great place to relax, sit outdoors, bike into town, explore the island. I love Peaks Island and wanted a place I could stay for awhile by myself. This was perfect. I especially loved the kitchen and all the cookware there. Peaks Island and Portland have amazing restaurants, but I also cooked for myself. On the days that I didn't feel like adventuring much, I enjoyed some quite time on the back patio. Was shaded and very relaxing.

Lovely stay
I’m a long-time renter on Peaks Island and this place is hands down my favorite. My wife and I needed a place just for us and a 9-month old and this was perfect. I’d highly recommend it if it’s just 2 of you or with small children. We’re looking forward to returning next year.

Perfection
This was perfection. All you need for a great vacation.
Went to family wedding and all the relatives were envious of our accommodations. The family has owned a place on Peaks for over 100 years and we go almost every summer. I fear my other relatives will try to steal the place away from us.
The craftmanship in the dwelling was first class...someone really cared!! Truly hope to stay here again!

Great location!
This was a great space for our family and we had a relaxing week on Peaks. We liked being toward the back of the island. There was easy access to Evergreen Landing and Centennial Beach with sunset views. Also, a short walk to the back shore. We were visiting family that lives on the island so did not take full advantage of the great outdoor space in the front and back of the house.

Wonderful time at Peaks Island
The cottage was immaculate. It was just the right size for us and in a very quiet part of the island. Thank goodness it had air conditioning because it was hot the first couple of days. The granddaughter got a kick out sleeping in the Murphy bed and, hey, the bed upstairs was comfortable too. The nicest place we have stayed on the island.

Ideal Hideaway From City Life
Very well kept up property with great views of the sunset and Portland skyline. Comfortable for two with room to entertain outdoors for more friends. Very peaceful part of Peaks Island (away from the crowds and noise). Would go again! This was our first VRBO experience and so it's very encouraging for future get-aways.

Slice of Heaven
We had an amazing stay at Lorna's home. The space is updated, clean, and well-appointed, and there's plenty of room outside to enjoy the peacefulness of Peaks. The house is in super close walking distance to Centennial Beach and to the Ocean side of the island, so you have the best of both worlds. And if you want to get around the island a little quicker, there are bikes available for use, as well. We would absolutely come back to this beautiful space and would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

Great spot!
We had a super relaxing week on Peaks Island - highly recommend for some R&R. A great balance of being close to Portland (~15min ferry) for awesome restaurants and plenty to do with the relaxing peacefulness of Peaks' Island. Beautiful / brand new house and super easy check in / check out procedures - everything we needed for a great week away. We will be back!

Excellent property, Excellent Location, Excellent Vacation!
If you’re looking for a quaint cottage with all the modern amenities on the quiet (sunset) side of Peaks, with access to the seclusion of Evergreen Beach, this is the place for you.
Kitchen is well stocked, plenty of paper products, and a great patio our back to grill and chill. Bathroom is all you need to clean up after a long day on the water or on the beach. Upstairs loft has a comfortable bed with spectacular views of the water. A/C (if needed) works great too.
Plenty of natural light and space for 2. Murphy bed in the living room for a guest or two as well. Fire pit with plenty of chairs in the front is an amazing spot to watch the sunset and entertain, as well as the back patio.
The location is one of the best in the island. Quiet, excellent views, and close bike ride to everything you need.
Wanna get away? Here’s the place to go. Oh, and did I mention the sunset views?
