Malecon-front hostel walking distance from everything you need!

This hostel boasts a prime location right in front of the Malecon. Guests receive their own set of keys and a fob for elevator access, entry into the premises, and their room. The common areas are spacious and well-lit. My room was equipped with a television, storage space, water, a fully stocked kitchenette, and a bathroom. The hosts were easily reachable via WhatsApp. Although they advised against interacting with the lobby receptionists, I found them to be very friendly and helpful whenever I needed to sign in upon arrival or came in and out of the building. The hostel is conveniently situated within walking distance of an aerovia station, empanada spots, the cacao museum, the artisanal market, and T.T. Okey for delicious chaulafan. Plus, Netflix is available on the television for your downtime, and you're less than a 10 minute uber from the airport.

The amenities were slightly outdated, but everything was functional, which wasn't much of an issue since I spent most of my day exploring on foot. The breakfast was alright, the pieces of defrosted cheese were unfortunately spoiled, I just skipped eaten them as the pastries, fruit, fresh juice, and scrambled eggs were more than enough to fill me up for the morning. Friendly suggestion to keep your curtain blinds closed. On multiple occasions, I noticed folks from the building across the street taking photos and staring into the room, it was every so creepy.

Pepe House Hotel es un lugar práctico y con buena ubicación en la ciudad de Guayaquil; se debe seguir las instrucciones dadas por los operarios para poder tener en orden el ingreso y la salida del lugar. Fueron atentos y resolutivos al solicitar cambios y/u otros requerimientos. Gracias.

Nuestra sugerencia es que utilicen señalización para encontrar el lugar; si bien es cierto, envían la dirección y el detalle completo, pero debimos preguntar para poder ubicarnos en el lugar.

Un lugar excepcional, buena ubicación, buen servicio y a un precio accequible, Recomendado

Me gusto todo, aunque no tenía netflix para en la noche, ver alguna película, no necesite, lo hice en youtube, por lo demás todo muy bien. Contento y feliz de haber elegido éste alojamiento, el personal de servicios, muy bien. Los guardias muy amables y bien educados, excelente todo.

Que ofrescan Netflix y no tengan, pero como no necesito, no importo eso, youtube lo reemplazo de mejor manera, así que es irrelevante eso, lo que no me gusta es que te ofrezcan y no cumplan, pero todo lo demás opaco este inconveniente, así que no ofrescan algo que no cumplen.

Central y bonito

Es un lindo sitio en el centro de la ciudad. Decoración amigable, habitaciones amplias, bien decoradas. Desayuno bueno.

Por el precio, está bien. La ducha eléctrica funciona bien, las camas no están mal. Pocas opciones de desayuno

Budget stay

Excellent location and clean space

The aircon worked bad. Extremely noisy. The photos don’t show the place as it is (old furniture that need an urgent change. The shower smell burned.

A couple of nights in Guayacil

Handy location for the Malecón. If you're worried about safety sticking close to the Malecón is a pretty safe bet. Nothing too far. Nice balcony space to sit outside. Coffee and tea available. Various snacks and drinks can be purchased (honesty box,) Getting in and out not complicated at all..

Good staying if you know the rules in advance

I love the location, the room and the terrace with the view of the city and the security to enter the building. Also, I love the fact that is not very visible for the public so Its discreet

I did not like that the staff was a little bit suspicious about us and they wanted to check by whatsapp messages about us instead of opening the door and chat with us in the common room.

Made the most of the great location!

I like there were other guests that I was able to chat with and make new friends. Also, all the main places I wanted to visit where walking distance, great location. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Lock code provided was wrong, I have to make a couple of trips up and down to get some help. I didn't have data with me at the time, so it was impossible to reach out via WhatsApp; luckily the gentleman at the lobby was really helpful. Everything else was great! I wish I have had more time to stay and explore.

The breakfast

Everything, the AC was extremely noisy we couldn't sleep at all, the shower was in terrible condition, nose from outside b cause the windows were only a net.

Everything was good including the location

Everything was great after the front door man let us in.

Everything was perfect except the registration was done outside the building. I begged the man to let us in after I gave him my name and it was in his notebook but still he wouldn’t let us in. He said he’s not allowed. But I told him. My name is in your book but he didn’t care. SO I had to take out my wallet and cell outside the hotel in Guayaquil. I’m sorry that registration system has to go. I believe once you confirm at least the name. Let them in and inside ask for verification. It just makes sense.

Clean bedroom, but it is not the cosy place shown in the pictures!

The place was spotless clean, comfy bed and good AC in the bedroom.

The nice communal spaces shown in the pictures were not accessible, they are on a different floor that is only open for breakfast. The living room space I was allowed to use did not have air conditioning and hence wasn't useable, way too hot and humid. Generally I felt I was in a different place than what I'd booked. Also the building guard at the check in was super rude. I had no internet left on my phone to contact the owners to get the code to get in and he just shrugged his shoulders leaving me to my own devices. Not a nice welcome for sure. It's all self check in so there is no other way than contacting the owners via whatsapp.

Cute vibe but uncomfortable…

The common area was really cute, it gave the hotel a more homey feeling. The room size and amount of cupboard space was great. The staff was very accommodating and helpful especially with the directions to enter the room as it is a self check-in hotel. Warm water in the shower.

The bed was very hard, the pillows were awfully hard. With the heat in Guayaquil an air conditioner is quite necessary, ours was terribly loud, made it unable to get a good nights sleep. You either try to sleep with an incredible noise level or drenched in sweat in an uncomfortable bed. Hopefully it was only our room that was not that great…

Very cute, cheap, good location.

Super noisy at night. Not even earplugs stopped the sounds of groups of dogs barking all night. Not the hotels fault, but it’s difficult to sleep with dogs that loud.

There was a shower without a curtain in a bedroom, like literally in a bedroom so Your partner could watch u having shower...that is not normal :/

Lovely

The location was perfect and I feel really secure at night, there is a security guy in the central door. The bed was very comfortable. Air-condition and wifi were working perfectly. The common areas are well designed and it's nice that there is potable water to refil your bottle. Also they respond really fast and they were very helpful.

I would like more variety in the breakfast.

Great value for money clean and safe.

The property has a great style, is very clean, friendly and also welcoming decorated. The WIFI works very very well, compared to all other properties we stayed - in Ecuador as well as Galapagos. Breakfast was delicious 😋

It was a little complicated to get into the property but the host is very responsive on WhatsApp. We were a little unfortunate, because when we arrived the power of the building was off for one or two hours.
