The hosts were very friendly & hospitable, helpful, gave recommendations for meals, arranged transportation. The location is also excellent-close the el malecón, the airport, restaurants.

Small, nostalgic diamond , with super friendly staff and delicious breakfast. All tourist attractions and lots of restaurants walking distance away.

Great views from bedroom. Very good breakfast. Great colonial decor.
Too cold. Cannot control air conditioning in the room.

Lovely staff and a beautiful place. Everything was great. Nice water pressure and hot shower. Breakfast they offer is also super nice :) the location was also nice. It’s right next to Santa Ana hill and connected to the staircases. It’s located in the historic district and was protected by many police.

Beautiful hotel located in a historic villa just at the Guayaquil waterfront. The owners did an amazing job renovating the building, while at the same time keeping its vintage spirit. The stay here is worth it just for admiring the magnificent architecture. But despite that you will experience amazing service, perfectly kept rooms, beautiful views from the hotel's terrace and amazing breakfasts. This is THE place to stay when you come to Guayaquil.

Central, beautiful though run down, amazing staff.
The beauty of the physical space was marred by the run-down, frayed furniture and wall coverings.

The hotel is like going back in time. All the furniture, curtains, decor is original, from a hundred years ago. it could be a film set. Obviously no elevator. Great location in a very safe area, close to safe bars and restaurants and the Malecón 2000, which is a safe walking area along the river.

A fabulous hotel in every respect. Beautiful period furnishings made it feel like a film set.
The staff were very friendly and professional and couldn't do enough to help us.
The location was perfect. A few minutes walk to the Malecon or to the steps up through Las Penas.
Nothing negative to say whatsoever

beautiful historic house, great location

The room was large and elegant, with a view of trees FILLED with birds. They also had a piano in a victorian drawing room, and we sat around and played and sang. Lovely time.
My only complaint is that the cleaning chemicals were a bit stinky.

Great location in safe and central area.
Old colonial flair of the hotel... very friendly staff.
Felt a bit too personal that someone has to open the gate at the basement every time you leave or enter the hotel.

Beautiful boutique hotel, hospitality was really good, friendly helpful and the bed was amazing!

The location was perfect for us. It was near the malecon and the steps to walk up Santa Ana Hill were nearby as well.
The staff was fantastic and extremely friendly!
The rooms were clean but out-dated and worn.
The shower was awful! Little water pressure and the water never stayed at a consistent temperature. The water would be hot for a few seconds before it turned cold and would do that the entire time!! Just awful!

It was like going back in time to a beautiful mansion with grand rooms, high ceilings and chandeliers. Loved the location…very close to a variety of shops and restaurants. The Hostess Angelica was lovely!
I didn’t have enough time to enjoy the setting as I was only there for less than a day.

Beautiful building and the staff was lovely. The nice area for dinner is around the corner.

nice big room
Great bathroom
nice staff working there
got an early breakfast
very safe neighborhood
quite strong smell in the lobby
there was a fire during the night - directly next to our window. not the hotels fault, but we had a strong smell of fire and of course hardly any sleep during that night. I hope this was just a bad coincidence - but that was a scary and unpleasant experience.

Breakfast was very nice; they adjusted the time even to our early departure.
The Hotel is very original with old decorations on the walls and ceilings and interiors of a time past. It is special! The location is just perfect to walk along the "Malacon" and to visit the old town of Guayaquil. Close to the airport
The best is the staff: they are not only very, very, very friendly; they organized a transfer in the middle of the night (due to late internationa arrival) to the Hotel, there was even somebody waiting for us at 2 am!!!

Central location to the Malecon and AeroVia. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Stunning decor, beautiful antiques, views of the river and comfortable beds. Good breakfast.

We got in very late, 4am , and the taxi sent by the hotel waited for us 2.5 hrs since our plane was late. Upon arrival the girl checking us in was so lovely and sweet. The next morning the gentleman helped us with our luggage and took great pictures of us in the lobby. It was incredibly beautiful and a piece of the city’s history.
It was perfect

Everything! from the historic vibes of the hotel/rooms to the antiques and decor
Staff were very friendly and helpful
They switched us to a better room when we highlighted that AC might have an issue although they fixed it immediately.
The hotel is next to a bar so the party was loud and noise came to the room until around 1am (weekend)
also ALOT of stairs to climb before reaching the room (just a watch-out if you had a problem with stairs)

Beautiful step back in time.
could use a good cleaning.

The staff are amazing! Andrea and Alejandra went out of thier way to help me. Organizing a last minute in room PCR test. Only 50$. Great with recommendations and safety. Beautiful space, views etc. comfy bed too. Bring citronella/mosquito repellent in general if you visit Ecuador in the wet season .

The wonderful antiques and architecture. The area and view are amazing. Great value and price
Stairs. And more stairs. If you’re young and healthy no problem. If you’re not physically able to do several flights of stairs I wouldn’t recommend this for you. Steep stairs, curved staircases, absolutely amazing decor. Otherwise it’s a really cool experience at a really decent price. Staff is wonderful. They even helped carry our suitcases up to the rooms. I hope to visit there again one day
