This is a beautiful place to stay. The house is a mixture of Japanese and modern design and is immaculately clean. The mattresses were extremely comfortable, rooms are air conditioned and facilities like hammocks on the rooftop and laundry machines were a wonderful addition. The best thing however was the owner.
I actually landed too late to check into my previous hotel and was left facing a night outside. I thought to message the owner of guest house ishigaki in the early morning and received a message at 6am. The owner picked me up from a nearby family mart and let me relax in the living room until it was time for me to check into. I cannot tell you how much of a relief it was and something I am more grateful for than anything else. Thanks a lot Andy, you saved me brother.

The owner is very helpful and kind. My room was small, but perfectly fine for a solo traveler. The area is extremely clean. It’s totally worth the money!

Andy and Haruko’s guesthouse was exceptionally clean, peaceful and well equipped with everything we needed. The staff (especially Sara) and other guests were friendly and welcoming. We were given lots of great local recommendations and Andy also runs a highly rated snorkelling tour. The guesthouse has everything you need for cooking and the laundry for guests is cheap and fast. The room itself was spacious and comfortable with good air conditioning. The property is located about 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal and just 5 minutes walk from the main area with bars and restaurants, so the location is excellent. Overall the value for money could not have been better! We loved it here and would have happily stayed longer!
