THE NEIGHBORHOOD Supermarkets -There is a Fresh Thyme Farmers Market grocery store at 6569 N. Illinois in Fairview Heights, IL. It’s about a 10 minute drive from the house if you take I-64 E. They have fresh produce and organic and natural foods. They have an amazing salad bar, too! -There’s an Aldi Grocery Store near Fresh Thyme. They are located at 5925 N. Illinois St. Fairview Heights, IL. -There are two Walmart Super Center stores 10-15 minutes away. The Walmart in Collinsville is easier to get to and is often much less busy than the Walmart in O’Fallon. Both Walmart stores do grocery pick up so you can put your order in through their app and schedule a time to pick it up. It’s a lifesaver sometimes! Restaurants & Bars Our Favorites: - Peel Brewery Wood Fired Pizza at 104 S. Cherry St. in O’Fallon, IL. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the house. It’s a local, chef-owned business. They have amazing pizza, delicious salads, tacos, sandwiches, and BBQ. It also is a Brewery with craft beer. - Hot Shots Sports Bar and Grill at 1319 Central Park Dr. in O’Fallon, IL. This is one of the better spots to watch games and eat good American grill food. They have drink specials for any night of the week. - Bandanas BBQ at 4608 N Illinois St. in Fairview Heights, IL. This is a great stop for well-priced barbeque. They only serve domestic beers, so this may be a good take out item if you want to have some brews. This is a must if you want some easy BBQ!!! - Sheridan’s Frozen Custard at 5326 N Illinois St. in Fairview Heights, IL. This is a great place to get good custard without having to drive over to Ted Drewes in St. Louis. Local Spots - Cheddars Scratch Kitchen, 6600 N Illinois St. in Fairview Heights, IL. - Shooters Bar & BBQ, 113 E. 1st St. in O’Fallon, IL. - Sybergs 1310 Central Park Dr. in O’Fallon, IL. - Hop House Southern Eatery, 1214 Central Park Dr. in O’Fallon, IL. - Global Brew, 455 Regency Park, Suite B, in O’Fallon, IL. - Hofbrauhaus, 123 St Eugene Dr. in Belleville, IL. Breweries This is not an exhaustive list, but more complete than what you may find in Google searches. If you are looking for brews, you are in the middle of them all. You can drive in any direction to find these locations. - 2nd Shift Brewing - 4204 Main Street Brewing Company - 4 Hands Brewing - Alpha Brewing Company - Anheuser-Busch - Big Muddy Brewing - Bluewood Brewing - Brick River Cider Company (BBQ as well) - Civil Life Brewing Company - Center Ice Brewery (near St. Blues arena) - Earthbound Beer - Ferguson Brewing - Heavy Riff Brewing - Old Herald Brewery & Distillery - Perennial Artisan Ales - Recess Brewing (bring your own food!) - Rockwell Beer Company - Schlafly Tap Room - Side Project Brewing, Whiskey & Wine (interesting place to see) - Square One Brewery & Distillery - Third Wheel Brewery - Twisted Roots - Two Plumbers Brewery & Arcade - Urban Chestnut Brewing Company - Wellspent Taproom Kid Friendly Local Attractions These are all located within the St. Louis area and may be quick trips or spend the whole day type activities. - Big Joels Safari (Missouri) - City Museum (Missouri) - Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary (Missouri) - Edwardsville Children’s Museum (Illinois) - Eckert Country Store & Farm (Illinois) - Grants Farm (Missouri) - Magic House (Missouri) - Missouri Botanical Garden (Missouri) - O’Fallon Splash Pad (Illinois) - Six Flags (Missouri) - Sky Zone Trampoline Park ~ INDOOR ACTIVITY (Illinois) - St. Louis Zoo (Missouri) - Union Station Aquarium ~ NEW in 2019!!! (Missouri) - Urban Air Adventure Park ~ INDOOR ACTIVITY (Illinois) GETTING AROUND Public Transportation Metrolink Fairview Heights Station Good for: - Cardinal Games - Visiting the Arch - The Casino Queen - Lumiere Place Casino - Forrest Park – Zoo area - The new Union Station Aquarium This is the easiest way to get into downtown without having to drive. It is straight down highway 157 about 3 miles. You can park in their massive parking lot and then by tickets to board. BE CAREFUL AT NIGHT!!! While it does not have much crime along the train route, the Metrolink does go through East St. Louis, which has a higher crime rate. I would choose another transportation method unless it is after a big event like Cardinal baseball games or downtown festivals. This house sits on a beautiful and quiet piece of property. We saw deer and wild turkey’s out the window over the back yard. The spacious family area was great for our group of six. Having only one bathroom can present some problems, but we managed ok. House needs some kitchen and basement updates, but otherwise was comfortable and met our needs. We had some issues with chirping smoke alarms and front door code entry, but they were resolved. Overall a nice property and would stay again, especially if some of the needed updates are addressed.

This house was perfect for our family! It was clean and communication with the owner was easy and responses were FAST! We had a minor issue that was out of the owners hands (internet outage) and he went above and beyond to keep us comfortable for the BRIEF time it was down. Getting to and from St Louis was fast and easy. The only note- with our small children I was hoping the acreage listed would mean they would have room to run around outside but the property is pretty hilly. Still explorable- but not meant for baseball soccer etc.

We had a blessed time at this rental. It was clean, spacious and very nicely located. We were close enough to the City to make the drive, yet far enough way we didn't have the noise and hustle of the city. Would absolutely recommend this stay to anyone.

Beautiful
Beautiful
Beautiful property, comfortable beds, great accommodations. Stayed with my wife my 2yo child and my parents. Bedrooms were located far enough away from the living room that we could put the child to bed and still enjoy some family time. Beds were comfortable and loacation was very clean. Had lots of extras like a welcome basket with wine and snacks, a pack n play, fans in the bedrooms, soaps and dishes. Beautiful back yard with lots of room to explore. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend.
