Celebrate your next family vacation in this classic cabin located right on the water of Converse Bay! You'll love the all-wood interior and the floods of light that cascade in through large windows in practically every room. The screened-in porch features plenty of furniture for everyone and even boasts a large picnic table to enjoy those large family meals over. Use the rustic full kitchen to cook up today's fresh catch with some tasty side dishes. Later, head down to the shoreline for a leisurely stroll or a quiet kayaking trip over the water. Then break out a few board games for a zany family game night the kids will remember for years. (With plenty of freshly popped popcorn, of course!) Take the family dog out for a good long walk -- you'll have access to a beautiful meadow and walking trails, so be sure to pack a snack. You'll also have a paddleboat, sunfish sailboat, and a canoe at your disposal for hours of fun on the water. Get in some beautiful nature walks when you visit Williams Woods Natural Area (three miles) or Raven Ridge Natural Area (nine miles). Vermont Artisan Village is only eight miles away with all kinds of fun crafts and foods to check out. Things to Know Check-in time: 4:00 p.m. Check-out time: 10:00 a.m. All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the nightly pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting "Yes" to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The nightly fee ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

This cabin reminded me of the VT camps of my childhood. Simple, low-tech, and amazingly relaxing. Our family played endless games, read books every morning, and completed many puzzles on the screened-in porch. The shared beach with kayaks and sunfish, made for fun days in the water. If you are looking for a rustic and beautiful VT lake experience, this is it. No frills, just natural beauty.

The property itself, along with the staff were fantastic! The island has great trails, and our dog had a blast. Getting to and from the island is pretty smooth - ferry drivers were usually ready in a couple minutes time. Couple things to note - the check-in information we received was a little sparse relative to other stays via VRBO. If you're used to getting an access code, you won't for this property. And teh driving directions, while good once you've got your bearings, are not great for first getting there. Inside the cabin there was information with an address that worked for GPS - this would have been a huge help with initial navigation to the ferry area. Second, WIFI is around 10mbps - good for checking email, but if you have kids or want to stream something you might find this limiting. Beyond the want for a bit clearer communication from the company, things were great. The Cabin is as pictured or nicer, and the staff were super friendly. Would gladly go again for a longer stay.

I loved the relaxed vibe of the island. The owners are great and the service was amazing! 24/7 service if needed! It was so convenient to get back and forth on the ferry. We would go back and highly recommend!

Fantastic island get-away

This place is absolutely wonderful. It’s rustic, nestled in the woods looking on the water. Don’t expect modernity, but if you want to get away from that and enjoy nature in a beautiful, pristine setting, this is amazing. The people who own/manage the resort are super nice as well, but in no way intrusive. Would definitely go back.

Step back in time

Garden Island is a retreat from the distractions of the world and a step back to a time what a summer vacation used to be. No TV, although awesome WIFI, no temptation to hop in the car and go shopping. The cabins are from a bygone age. The staff and Owners are extremely welcoming and helpful. Laid back does not begin to describe it. And your car is a five minute ferry ride away when you need to go to the grocery store. Hated to leave.
