Located directly on Englewood Beach, The Cottage offers a variety of inviting outdoor spaces with beach front views and access. The private roof top deck is the perfect spot to start and end your day. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee watching the white caps break along the coast or admire the peaceful heavenly night by stargazing. Situated in the soft quartz sand, the free-standing deck is ideal for oceanside dining equipped with propane BBQ grill or take a relaxing nap listening to the waves crash in the outdoor daybed. Need to bring multiple cars or would like to bring a trailer with your jet skis or boat? No problem, our private driveway offers plenty of space for all your parking needs. This "old Florida" home features 3+ bedrooms and 2 full baths. The Cottage sleeps up to 8 guests if you utilize the additional sleeping arrangements (queen inflatable mattress). An open living concept allows everyone to spread out with plenty of room to cook a delicious meal in the kitchen, relax and watch a movie in the living room or sit at the table playing games or enjoying a meal. As the sun sets, gather loved ones around the fire pit and roast marshmallows to evoke nostalgic memories of a simpler time. This cottage was very accommodating for our families of 10.
It has a lot of “extras” you don’t need to pack for the beach (towels, umbrellas, wagon, lotions, beach toys) that came in very handy.

The Cottage was a perfect stay for our family of five. The easy beach access and amenities were top notch. We utilized the fire pit every night during our stay. There were also plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas for everyone. We will definitely tell others about this gem and will definitely return. Thank you!

This place is amazing and a beautiful location!!
Despite a couple hiccups (clothes dryer was broken which we didn’t discover until after we did a load of laundry and power was flickering on & off the entire time) we still had an unbelievably great stay. A sea turtle nested right in-front of the property during our stay and we saw the gopher turtle both days
The beds and couch were very comfortable, the cute welcome basket was appreciated and I can’t say enough about the perfection of the location

Pictures don’t do this place justice. The beach behind the house was perfect. Also the resident tortoise was very cool. This is a great place for couples, families with children or just some old friends coming to Florida to go tarpon fishing like us! Bonus, the beds were comfortable as well.

The beachfront location was fantastic. The deck right along the beach was perfect for an idyllic breakfast as was the rooftop for a cocktail at sunset.

Arriving to a beautiful beach home after a long winter in the north, we found ourselves at a home away from home.
Being able to have a coffee on the deck or lunch by the beach, this cottage has it all. Private access and great views makes this a 5 star beach rental. Also, walking distance to the local restaurant was a plus. We will be back.

This cottage is a gem!!! Gorgeous beach. Amazing deck right on the dune to take in the sunsets. Found 3 shark teeth within minutes of being there the first evening. One small issue and it was resolved in a much more timely manner than many other vacation rentals we have stayed at. Close enough to walk to the central restaurants and such but far enough away that you are not bothered. More than enough room for three couples and a spare room with bunks if you had a friend or another couple visit. Would love to stay here again.

This property is amazing in every aspect! Very easy check in/check out, very clean, very nice linens and towels, very comfortable beds (all of them!), great fire pit and deck overlooking the ocean for a fantastic sunset, and upscale kitchenware -- no plastic dishes! Five of us ladies were very comfortable and at home! We only wished the weather was a bit warmer so we could have taken the beach chairs out.
The location is perfect for what we wanted to do - enjoy the beach and ocean every day with a great "beach town" atmosphere on Manasota Key. This is definitely a location we will plan to return to - The Cottage!

Wow!! First time ever in Manasota Key and I loved it. It is a cute little town. The outside of the cottage does it no justice. The inside was beautiful and well kept. It was extremely spacious for 6 adults and 2 children (11 and 14). Everything was very clean and we even received a cute little welcome basket. The beach was right there and we saw the most beautiful sunsets right on the patio. It was so laid back and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful vacation with our kids and grandkids wrapping up our 50th anniversary...Cottage direct access to beach...wildlife was amazing...sea oats and sunsets were breathtaking. Easy access to several restaurants. We had a family cookout one night...the cottage was well stocked with spices...coffees...teas...cleaners...everything we needed to enjoy...and avoid extra expense. Loved it ...and we will definitely be back. Thank you very much

Great location, great property
The property was exactly as pictured. It has direct access to the beach, a big patio with umbrellas, a grill, and the small rooftop patio as well. Plenty of space inside too. Check in and out were easy and the property manager was easy to get ahold of. Would gladly visit again.

This was a good choice for our family. There was only one negative experience, which I will list at the end.
First, the good. The beach here is great. Everyday the waters offered something a little different, something I've never seen to this degree before. The first day we had large rolling waves and the kids had fun with rafts and body boards, but little to no undertoe or adverse currents. Day two, a sandbar had developed just under the water and provided a huge area for kids to play in shallower water. Waves had also died down a little and made it perfect for floating and Kayaking. Day three, the ocean was like a very calm lake and the water was crystal clear. We took this opportunity to go snorkeling and saw lots of fish. Sunsets were also gorgeous!
The cottage is exactly as advertised. While you can find more upscale, you will pay for it too. If your looking for a nice, very up to date cottage, this is perfect. I noticed some past reviews that noted some problems, but if those were issues in the past they have all been resolved. Air works great. Fridge, no issues. Nothing weird with the washer or dryer. Everything works great.
The beach deck is also nice. We enjoyed am evening meal out on it, and it was very peaceful. A few in our group said they got some bug bites, but I never noticed anything.
Some obvious things to consider, but not necessarily negative marks, for it's clear from pictures. This cottage is positioned in the midst of other houses and a three story complex right next door. However, when I chose this house, I knew it wasn't remote and the pictures clearly showed this detail, so I thought little of it. If I were looking for a remote getaway from everyone, it might not be the best option, but it honestly wasn't something I thought about much. The master bathroom is also very basic, but again it's what I expected. The hot water tank is also in there, as show in pictures.
The only real negative was an interaction with someone claiming to be a local and wildlife officer; I don't know if either were true. When we came in on an inflatable kayak from watching the sunset on first day, he threaten to call the coast guard if we did it again. I won't spend the time trying to explain the details or defend our actions, beyond saying his comments weren't justified. No alcohol involved, never in water deeper than we could stand in, etc. It was odd. Concerned me about what else we might encounter, but had no other such interactions.

5 stars in every category for us!! the gracious host made check in a breeze and we starting enjoying the beach immediately. we book a couple of houses a year through VRBO and I'd have to say this one is definitely one of the best from start to finish. completely stocked with all the little things you need to make it feel like home. we used insta-cart so the groceries were delivered to the address an hour after we were unpacked. very comfortable and kid friendly, we will definitely be circling this property for future bookings. a very big thank you to the owners for sharing this awesome property with our family.
