We enjoyed our stay so much! We love coming to Carlsbad and this house was perfect for my family and I. It was so close to the beach and a nice little walk over to town. Rick was a great host and we will definitely come back!

This house was everything my family and I had hoped for. Spacious home with amazing views! We enjoyed the beach everyday and then walked to the village in the evening to some amazing restaurants. Rick, our host, was easily to communicate with and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend the stay!

We were really excited at first about renting this property. My family and I have rented places in Carlsbad and Mission Beach every year for several years and this was the first experience where the host was shockingly rude. Rick started off great as a host. He asked us about drinks we would want waiting at the home and left fresh flowers. The property itself was fine. When we arrived, the home had a few flaws which we did not make a fuss about. The only one we called Rick about was the front door which the handle was broken. It literally kept coming out of the door. He came by and tried to “fix it” by putting tape around the inside of the handle. It never worked and constantly came out of the door but at least the front gate locked so we felt relatively safe. We never called him again to make a fuss. He says that his property is a “luxury rental” and can house 8 people comfortably. There were not enough plates to serve that many people so if you want to eat more than one meal in the home, you’re washing dishes/silverware a couple of times during the day, not exactly how I want to spend vacation but whatever, we made it work. The kitchen sink was broken and the kitchen was overall poorly equipped which does not meet with the “luxury” description. The carpet in the children’s bunk bed room kept pilling and coming up so badly, it was on all our children’s clothes and things. Again, didn’t make a fuss. We enjoyed our trip and chalked it to another ok rental property. I would have given this place a great rating and would have rented it again if the owner, Rick, had not been so awful. After we left, he sent me a message saying he was charging us extra for cleaning as we left his home a “disaster.” He sent no pictures of said mess. He told us we are slobs and that there was “dog hair everywhere and food on all the beds.” We don’t own a dog and a dog was never on the property. No one ate on the beds. We didn’t strip the beds and we left the dirty towels by the washing machine, but we did wipe down all the counters and stove top, took out all the trash, ran the dishwasher, vacuumed and put everything back where it belonged. He left no checkout instructions. I told him our party consisted of an ER doctor, a FF/paramedic, a Lt. Col commander in the Air Force and 2 FBI agents so our collective OCD levels literally doesn’t allow us to be “slobs”. He then insulted my career and said “you are now a complaining slob. Lose my number.”

Recently celebrated long overdue family reunion The rental was the perfect spot for this event Very well set up for the gathering with amazing views of the Pacific and beach right across the street. Kitchen/great room worked out great for entertaining and easy access / walk to Carlsbad village. Kitchen well stocked for any cooking needs and 2 great refrigerators . All age groups really enjoyed the property including the nice space in back with hot tub, grill, and fire pit. Plenty of toys for beach . Rick is very helpful with any questions Rob L

Overall convenient and pleasant stay. Lovely location.

We had an unbelievable week staying at this property. The beds were comfortable, kitchen fully stocked, plenty of spaces to gather (or hide!) even with 7 adults.....and the view was amazing! Rick was highly responsive and went out of his way to make us feel welcome! All of my kids asked if we could come back to this home the next time we gather. My answer.....ABSOLUTELY.
