Located in Tralee, this lovely house for $278 per night is a fantastic option for your next trip. Perched high on the hills overlooking Castlegregory, the Maharees and Tralee Bay to one side and the valley of Gleann na nGealt to the other, this bright and airy hilltop hideaway is a cosy and contemporary retreat with truly epic views. Located above a famed viewing point on the road from the village of Camp, close to the route of the old Dingle Railway, it boasts spectacular vistas and is designed to take full advantage of them from its open plan living area. It’s a great location for hillwalking, and there is great myth and lore associated with the area. The Valley of Gleann na nGealt (Valley of the Mad) is so-called because it is believed a cure for insanity came from the waters in the well there. Helpful information Access The approach to the house is via a steep driveway. There is parking for two cars. There are two steps inside leading up to the main living area. Spaces Living Area Entering into the house from the porch, the first thing you see ahead of you is a dramatic picture window looking out across epic views to the Maharees and Cappaclough beach. Two steps bring you up to the bright open plan kitchen-dining-living area. Wooden flooring delineates the sitting room area, with two plush comfy couches gathered around a cozy wood burning stove, and a large picture window framing the majestic view—if you’re looking for inspiration, here is where you will find it. Kitchen and Dining area The kitchen area is tiled and decorated in a charming country cream style with wooden countertops, and a window seat perfect to enjoy the views across the valley. The compact kitchen contains all modern appliances you will need with electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and dining table. Bedrooms Bedroom 1 has wooden floors, a double bed and dual aspect, with windows to the west and south offering views over the mountains and valley. A nifty space-saving clothes rail folds back into a decorative casing when not in use. The second bedroom is a generously sized twin room, also with dual aspect, with windows to the north and west, wooden floors and a wardrobe. Bathrooms Bathroom one is fully tiled with shower, sink and WC. Bathroom two is also fully tiled, with WC and hand-basin. Outside area Nestled into the hillside, surrounded by rockery and wild flowers, the house melds into the landscape with its feature stone finishes. A gravel path surrounds the house, with two crazy-paving patio areas, one to the front in a sheltered nook, and one at the back, taking full advantage of the most awe-inspiring viewpoint.

The perfect place to get away from the rush of life. A perfect gateway to Dingle, the Mountains and not that far from the major centers of Tralee and Killarney. For us the property was ideal and just as advertised. If its your firts viist to rural Ireland learn to slow down the roads are not high speed motorways but thats what you should be going for.

Had an amazing stay at the Railway Cottage. As the title implies the house has incredible views from every room. The listing photos are accurate of the property condition. The cottage is comfortable and provides a relaxing atmosphere. The check-in process was exceptional as a member of property management was on-site upon arrival to show details of the house and provide local knowledge. Breakfast items such as eggs and milk were also provided which was a nice touch. An overall great experience!
