The place is a dream come true. Within a beautifully kept garden there is this ancient house and a beautiful pool. Its an absolute gem. They did a great job with the restauration. There is a modern kitchen almost better equipped than the one we have at home, a beautiful living room downstairs and a huge and very comfortable bed plus a tiny bathroom upstairs. There is also a terrace with very comfortble chairs and pillows. Everything is immaculately clean. Donata our host is friendly and helpful, she even had some panzanella, ricotta and sparkling wine in the fridge for us at our arrival after the long journey. And there is Ivo, who keeps the pool and the garden so nice and clean.
It takes about ten minutes to reach Cortona, a lovely city with lots of good restaurants. We enjoyed almost 12 days at "La Ginestre", doing a lot of sightseeing: Arezzo, Agnani, La Verna, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Sant Antimo, San Galgano, Monte Oliveto Maggiore, Chiantigiana, Buonconvento, Lago Trasimeno, Siena, ,.... And coming home from the sightseeing trips we loved a long swim in the pool. The water was delicious - good temperature and so clean. In the evening we either went to Cortona for Dinner or we had bread, cheese and wine in the garden, listening to the chirping of the crickets and the wind playing with the leaves.
the shower is tiny and there is no place to put soap or shampoo
the road there is so poorly. You need to be a skilful driver and take the 4x4 - otherwise you wont be able to go there
